    The current promoter of Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited (NIMB) has initiated the auction of 2,55,741 units of shares, exclusively targeting existing promoter shareholders, starting from today, the 30th of Falgun, 2080.

    In this auction process, only the existing promoters of NIMB are eligible to participate in the bidding, and they have a window of 35 days from the date of the notice publication, concluding on the 30th of Falgun, to submit their bids.

    All interested shareholders are required to submit their bids at the central office of the bank, conveniently located in Lazimpat, Kathmandu. It’s noteworthy that if no bids are received from existing founder shareholders within the specified timeframe, the shares will subsequently be made available for auction to the general public.

    As of the latest update, NIMB is listed with a Last Traded Price (LTP) of Rs. 172.90. Simultaneously, NIMBPO, another class of shares associated with the bank, closed at Rs. 140.10. Out of the entire unit allocation, 60%, equivalent to 24.24 lakh units, was designated for subscription through private placement. Meanwhile, the remaining 16.16 lakh units, valued at Rs. 1.61 Arba, were open for public subscription. Additionally, 5%, amounting to 80.80 thousand units, were specifically set aside for mutual funds. The overall funds to be generated from this issuance are expected to total Rs. 4.40 Arba.

    Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited (NIMB) has recently disclosed its financial performance for the second quarter of fiscal year 2080/81, indicating a 13.62% decrease in net profit, which now stands at Rs 1.08 Arba.

    Despite the decline in net profit, the bank remains in a strong financial position with a total paid-up capital of Rs. 34.12 Arba and reserves amounting to Rs. 26.07 Arba. It is important to note the negative retained earnings at Rs 1.95 Arba.

    During the same period, the bank’s total deposits reached an impressive Rs 3.89 Kharba, while loans and advances to customers totaled Rs 3.12 Kharba. An encouraging aspect was the substantial 80.20% increase in Net Interest Income, reaching Rs. 7.54 Arba. However, the financial report also highlighted significant expenditures, including personnel expenses of Rs. 1.73 Arba and impairment charges of Rs. 2.86 Arba.

    In terms of key financial metrics for the second quarter, NIMB reported an annualized Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs 10.56, and the net worth per share stood at Rs 170.68. Nonetheless, concerns arose as the Non-Performing Loans (NPL) spiked to 4.75%. Additionally, the bank revealed a negative distributable profit of Rs. 1.95 Arba.

Out of the total units, 16.16 lakh will be made available to the general public, while the remaining 24.24 lakh units will be subscribed via private placement.

    Prabhu Capital Limited has been appointed as the issue manager for the debenture issuance.

The bank’s profit soared to NPR 1.52 Arba during this period, indicating a positive trend in its financial performance.

    In terms of financial standing, the same period disclosed a total paid-up capital of NPR 34.12 Arba, along with reserves amounting to NPR 25.89 Arba. However, the bank’s retained earnings were in the negative, standing at NPR 85.23 Crores.

    NIMB’s first-quarter report revealed total deposits reaching NPR 3.61 Kharba, while loans and advances to customers amounted to NPR 3.04 Kharba. Notably, the bank experienced a significant 95.40% increase in Net Interest Income, reaching NPR 4.16 Arba. On the flip side, the bank reported personnel expenses of NPR 96.14 Crores and impairment charges of NPR 64.06 Crores.

    During the first quarter, the bank achieved an annualized Earnings Per Share (EPS) of NPR 17.84, and the net worth per share was recorded at NPR 173.37. However, the Non-Performing Loans (NPL) spiked up to 4.83%. It’s important to note that the bank reported a negative distributable profit of NPR 85.32 Crores.
