    The current market for fine gold has witnessed a notable decrease, with the price dropping by Rs. 1,000 per tola. According to the latest information from the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the present trading value for fine gold is Rs. 1,25,000 per tola. This reflects a reduction of Rs. 1,000 from the closing rate reported yesterday, which stood at Rs. 1,26,000 per tola.

    Notably, on March 10, 2024, fine gold had reached an unprecedented peak at Rs. 1,26,000 per tola, marking a historic milestone in the market. However, the recent decrease indicates a shift in the pricing trend.

    Similarly, Tejabi gold is currently priced at Rs. 1,24,400 per tola, showcasing a decrease of Rs. 1,000 compared to the closing price of Rs. 1,25,400 per tola reported yesterday.

    In addition to the changes in gold prices, the price of silver has also experienced a decline. The current market rate for silver is Rs. 1,465 per tola, reflecting a decrease of Rs. 20 compared to yesterday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,485 per tola.

    The price of fine gold in Nepal dropped by Rs. 400 per tola, according to the latest update from FENEGOSIDA. Fine gold is now trading at Rs. 1,18,000 per tola, down from yesterday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,18,400 per tola. Similarly, Tejabi gold also saw a decrease of Rs. 400 per tola, with the current price standing at Rs. 1,17,450 per tola compared to yesterday’s closing price of Rs. 1,17,850 per tola.

    Chhimek Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (CBBL) released its second-quarter report for FY 2080/2081, revealing a 21.55% decline in net profit. The net profit dropped to Rs. 43.62 crore from Rs. 55.60 crore in the same quarter last year. Additionally, the company’s borrowings decreased by 22.81% to Rs. 3.51 Arba compared to Rs. 4.55 Arba in the previous year’s quarter. On the other hand, deposits saw a 3.82% increase, reaching Rs. 31.88 Arba.

Among today’s notable performers, Kalika Power Company Ltd (KPCL) and Singati Hydro Energy Limited (SHEL) experienced the highest gains, both at 10%. Following closely were Nepal Warehousing Company Limited (NWCL) at 9.99% and Muktinath Krishi Company Limited (MKCL) at 9.98%.  Conversely, Siddhartha Premier Insurance Limited (SPIL) faced the highest loss of 6.56%.  Regarding sector indices, only four sectors closed positively today.     The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index registered a decline of 8.75 points, equivalent to 0.42%, compared to the previous day’s closing, concluding at 2,060.15 points. This follows a loss of 1.93 points in the index on the preceding trading day. The day commenced with the index opening at 2072.45 and witnessed fluctuations, reaching an intraday low of 2,056.87 and a high of 2,096.44.

    In the course of today’s trading activities, a total of 306 different stocks were traded through 102,905 transactions. The trading volume amounted to 11,892,559 shares, contributing to a total turnover of Rs. 4.48 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 32.00 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.05 Kharba.

    SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) emerged as the stock with the highest turnover, reaching Rs. 20.13 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 579.

    Among the gainers for the day were CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) and Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited (CKHL), both gaining 10%. Following closely were Nepal Warehousing Company Limited (NWCL) and Hathway Investment Nepal Limited (HATHY), each recording gains of 9.99%, along with MKCL at 9.98%.

    Conversely, Molung Hydropower Company Limited (MHCL) experienced the most significant loss, with a decline of 8.09%.

    Analyzing the sector indices, only five sectors closed positively today. The “Investment Index and Manufacturing And Processing” exhibited the highest gain of 1.07%, while the “HydroPower Index” witnessed a loss of 1.72%.

    The price of gold faced a decline of Rs. 1,300 per tola today, as reported by the official website of the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association. The present rate for fine gold is recorded at Rs. 1,17,500 per tola, contrasting with the stable rate of Rs. 1,18,800 per tola on Friday. Similarly, Tejabi gold witnessed a decrease to Rs. 1,16,950 per tola today, reflecting a drop of Rs. 1,300 from its Friday rate of Rs. 1,18,250 per tola.

    On December 4, 2023, both fine gold and Tejabi gold had attained record highs of Rs. 1,21,600 and Rs. 1,21,000 per tola, respectively. Additionally, silver observed a decline of Rs. 35 per tola, with the current market rate standing at Rs. 1,425 per tola, compared to the closing rate of Rs. 1,460 per tola on Friday.

    The global downturn in gold prices, now at $2,004.50 per ounce, has notably impacted the domestic bullion market. Simultaneously, the international silver market indicates a trading value of $22.97 per ounce.

    Sunrise First Mutual Fund (SFMF) has disclosed its monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) report for Kartik, indicating a NAV of Rs. 10.62, a slight decrease from the previous month’s Rs. 10.70. The closed-end fund, with a 10-year maturity, began with Rs. 86 crores and has invested in listed shares, bonds, debentures, public issues, rights issues, bonus shares, and fixed deposits. SFMF’s bank balance is reported at Rs. 8.37 crores, and it recorded a net loss of Rs. 95.26 lakhs in Kartik, compared to a net loss of Rs. 27.24 lakhs in the previous month.

    Similarly, Sunrise Focused Equity Fund (SFEF), another closed-end fund with a 10-year maturity, shared its monthly NAV report for Kartik, revealing a NAV of Rs. 9.63, slightly lower than the previous month’s Rs. 9.65. With a fund size of Rs. 1 Arba, SFEF invested in listed shares, public issues, and fixed deposits. The fund’s bank balance is reported at Rs. 21.54 crores, and it incurred a net loss of Rs. 5.10 crores in Kartik, compared to Rs. 4.81 crores in the previous month.

    Sunrise Capital Limited also released the NAV report for “Sunrise Bluechip Fund (SBCF),” which commenced with a fund size of Rs. 1.25 Arba. SBCF reported a NAV of Rs. 9.26 for Kartik, slightly down from the previous month’s Rs. 9.33. The fund invested in listed shares, debentures, public issues, and fixed deposits, with a bank balance of Rs. 14.13 crores. SBCF recorded a net loss of Rs. 20.79 crores in Kartik, compared to Rs. 19.90 crores in the previous month.

    The price of gold has seen a significant drop today, declining by Rs. 1,000 per tola. As reported on the official website of the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, fine gold is currently being traded at Rs. 1,15,000 per tola, marking a decrease from the previous day when it stood at Rs. 116,000 per tola. Similarly, Tejabi gold is now priced at Rs. 114,450 per tola, down from Rs. 115,450 per tola, which was the rate maintained on the preceding day.

    In addition to the drop in gold prices, silver has also experienced a reduction in value, decreasing by Rs. 35 per tola. The current market rate for silver is Rs. 1,385 per tola, contrasting with the closing rate of Rs. 1,420 per tola from the previous day.

    On the international front, the current price of gold stands at USD $1,976.70 per ounce, and silver is trading at $22.61 per ounce. These international rates provide a broader context for understanding the fluctuations in the local gold and silver markets.

    As of June 15 in the current fiscal year 2022/23, the provinces in the country have only used half of their budget. Out of the total allocated budget of Rs 306 billion, they have spent Rs 151.3 billion, which is around 49.45 percent of the yearly allocation. According to the Office of the Comptroller General, Koshi Province has the highest expenditure rate at 61.41 percent, while Madhes Province has the lowest at 36.25 percent during the last 11 months of this fiscal year.
