    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index concluded the day with a notable gain of 31.62 points, equivalent to a 1.51% increase from the previous day’s closing, reaching a total of 2,120.62 points. This follows a slight loss of 0.62 points in the index during the preceding trading day.

    The market commenced today with the index opening at 2,093.48. It experienced fluctuations throughout the day, reaching an intraday low of 2,093.44 and achieving an intraday high of 2,121.67.

    During the day’s trading activities, a total of 314 different stocks were exchanged in 94,526 transactions. The total volume of shares traded amounted to 16,605,234, contributing to a turnover of Rs. 5.45 Arba. The market’s capitalization stood at Rs. 33.30 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.50 Kharba.

    Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited Promoter Share (NRICP) recorded the highest turnover, reaching Rs. 35.68 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 100.

    Eleven companies experienced positive circuit trends for the day, while Mega Mutual Fund -1 (MMF1) incurred the highest loss of 9.53%.

    In the sector indices, two sectors closed in the red. The “Hydropower Index” exhibited the most substantial gain of 4.58%, while the “Trading Index” faced a loss of 0.94%.

    The cost of the precious yellow metal has risen by Rs. 600 per tola today in comparison to the trading price on Friday. As per the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the current trading value for fine gold is Rs. 1,19,200 per tola, marking a Rs. 600 increase from Friday’s rate of Rs. 1,18,600 per tola.

    Similarly, Tejabi gold is now available at Rs. 118,650 per tola, showing a surge of Rs. 600 from its Friday price of Rs. 1,18,050 per tola.

    In addition to the gold prices, the price of silver has also seen an uptick of Rs. 20 per tola. The present market rate for silver stands at Rs. 1,420 per tola, contrasting with Friday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,400 per tola.

    Himalayan Everest Insurance Limited (HEI) has scheduled its 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) for February 25, 2080. The meeting will take place at Baneshwor Banquet in Thapagaun, starting at 11 AM.

    One of the key items on the AGM agenda is the approval of a 15% dividend for the fiscal year 2079/80. In a previous board meeting on Poush 25, it was decided to distribute this dividend on the paid-up capital of Rs. 2.30 Arba. The proposed distribution includes 8.63% bonus shares valued at Rs. 19.86 crore and a 6.37% cash dividend (including tax) amounting to Rs. 14.66 crore.

    Additionally, the AGM will cover the endorsement of the auditor’s report, along with profit and loss statements, financial reports, and cash flow reports. The appointment of an auditor for the fiscal year 2079/80 is also on the agenda. Furthermore, there will be discussions about enhancing the facilities and allowances for the board of directors.

Similarly, Tejabi gold is available today at Rs. 118,050 per tola, reflecting a Rs. 300 uptick from yesterday’s price of Rs. 117,750 per tola.

    The current owners of Kalika Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (KMCDB) are offering 61,000 shares for auction to existing shareholders, starting from December 27, 2080. Among them, Santosh Shrestha plans to sell 56,000 shares, Padam Pani Kafle aims to sell 1,500 shares, and Bimala Sapkota Lamichanne intends to sell 3,500 shares to other existing promoters.

    This auction is exclusively open to current promoters, and they have a 35-day window from the notice date (December 27, 2080) to submit their bids. Interested shareholders must present their bids at the company’s central office in Pokhara.

As reported by the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the current trading rate for pure gold stands at Rs. 1,18,300 per tola. This marks a reduction of Rs. 200 compared to the previous day’s trading value of Rs. 1,18,500 per tola.

    Similarly, Tejabi gold is currently priced at Rs. 1,17,750 per tola, indicating a decrease of Rs. 200 from the previous day’s rate of Rs. 1,17,950 per tola.

    Ghalemdi Hydro Limited (GHL) recently allocated its right shares at a 1:2 ratio on the 25th of Poush. The shares were distributed to applicants, and those who did not receive an allotment will be refunded starting from the 29th of Poush, 2080.

    During the period from the 10th of Mangsir to the 16th of Poush, 2080, the company issued 1,10,00,000 units of right shares. The book closure date for the rights offering was declared on Kartik 2, allowing investors holding shares before that day to apply for the additional shares.

    Out of the total right shares, 77,82,276 shares were allocated to 28,121 valid applicants. However, 32,17,724 shares (29.25%) remained unclaimed by eligible investors. These remaining shares are set to be auctioned soon, open to the general public and institutions.

It’s worth noting that this determination is subject to approval from the regulatory authority, Nepal Rastra Bank, and confirmation at the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the company.

    Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (DLBS) has recently declared the cancellation of dividend distribution for the Fiscal Year 2079/80. Initially, during the 8th board of directors meeting on Kartik 22, the company had proposed a distribution plan of 14.25% bonus shares and 0.25% cash dividend (for tax purposes) from the paid-up capital, which amounted to Rs. 10.31 crores. However, the company has now decided not to proceed with the dividend distribution, revoking the earlier announcement of bonus shares worth Rs. 1,89,66,750 and a cash dividend for tax purposes amounting to Rs. 9,98,250.

    Reliable Nepal Life Insurance Limited (RNLI) has put forward a proposal for a dividend of 16.84% for the fiscal year 2079/80. This marks a significant move as it represents the company’s inaugural dividend offering. The decision was made during the 126th board of directors meeting held on Poush 24. The proposed dividend will be distributed based on the paid-up capital of the company, which stands at Rs. 4 Arba. The distribution includes 16% bonus shares, equivalent to Rs. 64 crore, and a 0.84% cash dividend, totaling Rs. 3.36 crore.
