    Himalayan Reinsurance Limited initiated the issuance of 2,49,00,000 units of IPO shares to the public starting from the 27th of Mangsir, 2080. The early closing date for this offering is set on the 1st of Poush, with the possibility of extension up to the 11th of Poush, 2080, if the subscription is not fully met.

    Out of the total 3,00,00,000 units, a portion has already been allocated – 10% (30,00,000 units) for Nepalese citizens working abroad, 2% (6,00,000 units) for company employees, and 5% (15,00,000 units) for mutual funds. The remaining 2,49,00,000 units are made available to the general public at a cost of Rs. 206 per share, inclusive of a Rs. 100 face value and a Rs. 106 premium.

    NMB Capital Limited holds the position of the issue manager, overseeing the application process. Interested parties can submit applications for a minimum of 10 units and a maximum of 3,00,000 units. As per the Central Depository and Clearing Company (CDSC), a total of 888,744 applicants have applied for 16,008,080 units, amounting to Rs. 3.29 Arba. Consequently, the subscription rate stands at 64.29% as of 10 AM.

    ICRA Nepal has reconfirmed an issuer rating of [ICRANP-IR] A- for Himalayan Reinsurance Limited. This rating, denoted as ICRA NP Issuer Rating A Minus, signifies a satisfactory level of safety concerning the company’s ability to meet financial obligations in a timely manner. Companies with such ratings are considered to have low credit risk.

    Established in 2021, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited is the second reinsurance company in Nepal to issue an IPO. As a leading private-sector reinsurance firm, it specializes in providing reinsurance support to both Life and Non-Life Insurance Companies within Nepal and internationally. The company received its operational license in 2021, marking a significant milestone in its operations.

    In the initial three months of the fiscal year 2080/81, concluding at the end of Ashwin, the non-life insurance sector in Nepal achieved remarkable success by accumulating a substantial premium of Rs. 10.44 Arba. This impressive growth is outlined in a recent comprehensive report released by the Nepal Insurance Authority. The robust performance of the insurance industry was fueled by a total of 6.81 lakh active insurance policies, collectively held by policyholders across a diverse range of segments.

    Siddhartha Premier Insurance emerged as a prominent leader in this sector, boasting an impressive count of 79,696 active policies. Following closely, Neco Insurance secured a commendable position with 75,916 active policies in force. In contrast, National Insurance exhibited a more modest presence with 9,731 active insurance policies.

    In terms of the total charges generated through insurance, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance established itself as a front-runner, accumulating insurance charges amounting to Rs. 1.31 Arba. Siddhartha Premier Insurance, while not leading in terms of charges, maintained a substantial presence with total charges reaching Rs. 1.06 Arba. Shikhar Insurance Limited also made a substantial contribution, recording insurance charges of Rs. 1.04 Arba.

    Over the past two months, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has amassed a revenue of Rs 1.17 billion, marking a significant increase of nearly Rs 230 million compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. During the corresponding timeframe last year, KMC had collected Rs 934.1 million in revenue. The notable surge in revenue collection has been attributed to the initiation of revenue collection by KMC’s ward offices, as stated by Dhruba Kafle, Chief of the Revenue Department at KMC.

    This growth in revenue has coincided with a notable rise in the number of taxpayers, which can be attributed to all 32 wards under KMC now offering tax collection services. It’s been reported that an increased number of taxpayers are paying property tax and house rent, reflecting a boost in compliance. KMC administers tax collection under nine different categories, including property tax, house rent tax, entertainment tax, and advertisement tax, among others.

    In the current fiscal year, KMC has set an ambitious target to collect Rs 10.41 billion in revenue, highlighting its commitment to continued financial growth and service provision.

    Mathillo Mailun Khola Jalvidhyut Limited conducted its Initial Public Offering (IPO), releasing 12,84,200 unit shares to the public from the 18th to the 22nd of Ashwin, 2080.

    Out of a total of 15,09,200 units, 1,50,000 units were exclusively available to Nepalese citizens working abroad, and 75,000 units were allocated to mutual funds. The remaining 12,84,200 units were open for the general public.

    Sanima Capital served as the appointed issue manager for this IPO, and applicants could apply for a minimum of 10 units and a maximum of 10,000 units.

    CDS & Clearing Limited (CDSC) has provided an update on the public IPO collection of Hathway Investment Nepal Limited as of 10 am on Bhadra 24.

    Hathway Investment Nepal Limited had initiated the issuance of 24,27,750 unit IPO shares, each with a face value of NPR 50, to the general public starting from Bhadra 21, 2080. The closing date for this IPO is scheduled for Bhadra 25, with the possibility of an extension up to Ashwin 4, 2080, if the issue remains undersubscribed.

    Hathway Investment Nepal Limited has a total issued capital of Rs. 1.17 Arba, out of which 12.50%, equivalent to 29,25,000 unit shares, is allocated for the public, including Nepalese citizens working abroad. Among these shares, 10% (292,500 units) are earmarked for Nepalese citizens working abroad, 2% (58,500 units) for the company’s employees, and 5% (146,250 units) for mutual funds. The remaining 24,27,750 units are reserved for the general public.

    In the first eleven months of the fiscal year 2079/80, non-life insurance companies in Nepal collected an impressive amount of Rs. 36.19 Arba in premiums from 25.37 lakh active insurance policies. According to a report from the Nepal Insurance Authority, Siddhartha Premier Insurance holds the most active policies at 313,602, followed by Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance with 305,633 policies. On the other hand, National Insurance Co. Ltd has the fewest active policies, with only 30,563 in total.

    Ghorahi Cement Industry Limited, a company in Nepal, has recently issued an Initial Public Offering (IPO) to the general public. The IPO consists of 69,11,670 unit shares priced at Rs 435 per unit, including a premium of Rs 335. The offer opened on 32nd Jestha, 2080 and is scheduled to close on 4th Ashad, with a possible extension until 14th Ashad if it is not fully subscribed.

    The allocation of shares includes 20% for project-affected locals, 606,350 units for Nepalese citizens working abroad, 328,961 units for mutual funds, and 19,530 units for company employees. The remaining 69,11,670 units are available for the general public. The IPO is expected to generate Rs. 3.44 Arba for the company, with Rs 2.65 Arba as the premium amount and the rest contributing to the paid-up capital.

    The IPO has garnered significant interest from investors, as the number of applications received so far has surpassed the available shares. According to CDSC, 288,456 applicants have applied for a total of 98,02,460 units, resulting in an oversubscription of 1.42 times.

    Himalayan Capital Limited and Nabil Investment Banking Limited have been appointed as the issue managers for the IPO. The application process allows a minimum of 10 units and a maximum of 10,00,000 units to be applied for.

    CARE Ratings Nepal Limited has assigned a rating of `CARE-NP BBB- (Is)’ to Ghorahi Cement Industry Limited. This rating signifies a moderate degree of safety in terms of the company’s ability to meet its financial obligations in a timely manner.

    Overall, the IPO of Ghorahi Cement Industry Limited has attracted significant investor interest, surpassing expectations and demonstrating confidence in the company’s prospects.

    The Department of Tourism (DoT) in Nepal has achieved a significant milestone by generating royalty of NRs. 66.64 crores through the issuance of expedition permits for Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world. As of May 14, 2023, during the ongoing Spring expedition season, a total of 478 expedition permits have been issued for Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest). This translates to 47 teams, consisting of 376 male climbers and 102 female climbers, who have obtained permits to ascend the majestic peak, towering at an elevation of 8,848.86 meters.

    Similarly, for Mt. Lhotse, the fourth-highest mountain globally with an elevation of 8,516 meters, the DoT has issued 156 individual expedition permits. Among them, 17 teams comprising of 116 male climbers and 40 female climbers have been granted the permits to scale this challenging peak. Through the issuance of scaling permits for Mt. Lhotse, the Department has collected a revenue of NRs. 3.53 crores.

    Additionally, eight teams consisting of 79 individuals, including 62 males and 17 females, will endeavor to conquer Ama Dablam, a mountain standing at 6,814 meters. The DoT has collected a royalty of NRs. 41.39 lakhs through the issuance of expedition permits for Ama Dablam.

    For Annapurna I, the tenth highest mountain globally, standing tall at 8,901 meters, a total of five teams have obtained permits to attempt the summit. These teams comprise 38 male climbers and 16 female climbers. As of May 14, 2023, the revenue accumulated from the permits for Annapurna I amounts to NRs. 1.04 crores.

    As of the same date, May 14, 2023, the Department of Tourism has issued a total of 1,176 expedition permits for 28 different peaks in Nepal. This diverse range of permits has contributed to a significant revenue of NRs. 76.57 crore for the Department.
