    The NEPSE index closed at 2,105.46 today after losing 16.40 points from the last trading day’s closing. This is a loss of 0.77%. The index lost 60.88 points on Sunday.

    Today the index opened at 2,122.41 and made an intraday high of 2,122.56. It went as low as 2,100.57 and ultimately closed at 2,105.46.

    The public offering of the “10.30% Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited Debenture” by Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCB) has been extended. On the 26th of Magh, the issue was launched. The early deadline was today, on the 1st of Falgun. Because the issue has not been fully subscribed, the deadline has been extended until Falgun 08.

    A total of 24 lakh units will be issued at a par value of Rs.1000 each. 14.40 lakh units of the total issue will be subscribed through private placement, while the remaining 9.60 lakh units worth Rs. 96 crores will be open for public issue, with 5% reserved for mutual funds. The issuance will generate a total of Rs 2.4 Arba.

    According to Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, indicators of the country’s economy are in jeopardy due to negative global economic impacts and challenges stemming from domestic causes.

    He did, however, state that he is constantly working to resolve the country’s economic problems. He made this statement during today’s House of Representatives meeting while delivering a speech on the half-yearly budget report for fiscal year 2022/23

    The NEPSE index finished at 2,121.75 today, down 60.88 points from the previous trading day’s close. This is a 2.79% decrease. Yesterday, the index rose 12.45 points.

    Today’s opening price for the index is 2,181.2, which is also the intraday high. It dropped as low as 2,117.67 before closing at 2,121.75.

    Through 51,226 transactions, 253 scrips changed hands. A total of 8,139,840 shares were traded for a total of Rs. 2.062 Arba in turnover. This is less than the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 3.047 Arba.

    Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) closed at a market price of Rs. 2,605 per share with the highest turnover of Rs. 14.37 crores. The most traded shares were those of NGPL.

    Khaptad Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (KLBS) gained the most for the day, 4.48%.

    Ngadi Group Power Ltd. (NGPL) suffered the most loss today, falling 6.60%.

    All sector indexes finished in the red today, with “Finance” losing the most 4.70% and “Mutual Fund” losing the most 0.83%.

    Makar Jitumaya Suri Hydropower Company Limited is closing the issue of its IPO to the Nepalese citizens working abroad from today i.e. on 29th Magh and has extended the IPO issue deadline for project-affected locals till 15th Falgun, 2079. The issue had opened on 15th Magh, 2079.

    The issued capital of the company is Rs. 76 Crores of which 10% i.e. 7,60,000 unit shares worth Rs. 7.6 crores have been allocated to project-affected locals of Dolakha District. Meanwhile, 20% of the company’s issued capital i.e. 15,20,000 unit shares will be issued later for the general public. Of this public issue, 10% of the shares totaling 152,000 units shares have been allocated for Nepalese citizens working abroad, the issue of which will close today.

    The earnings of Rastriya Beema Company Limited (RBCL) climbed by an astonishing 92.57% in the second quarter of fiscal year 2079/80 compared to the same period the previous year.

    According to the financial report released today, it made a net profit of Rs 37.41 crore in the second quarter of fiscal year 2079/80, up from Rs 19.43 crore in the same period of fiscal year 2078/79.

    While its net premium income climbed by 64.60% from Rs 12.88 Crore to Rs 21.21 Crore at the end of the second quarter of this year, its reinsurance commission revenue declined to Rs 9.4 Crore from Rs 9.9 Crore.

    It presently has Rs 3.57 Arba in reserve and Rs 2.85 Arba in insurance funds. It has a paid-up capital of Rs.26.66 Crore.

    Its earnings per share are Rs 280.67, its net worth per share is Rs 1439.77, and its P/E ratio at the end of the quarter is 14.25 times.

    National Life Insurance Company Limited (NLICL) has released its second-quarter report for fiscal year 2079/2080, showing a 57.70% increase in Net Profit compared to the previous year’s equivalent period. The net profit of the firm climbed to Rs. 22.73 crores in this quarter from Rs. 14.41 crores in the previous quarter.

    National Life has a paid-up capital of Rs. 4.64 Arba and a reserve of Rs. 26.65 crores, according to the unaudited report for the second quarter issued today.

    The corporation has a life insurance policy worth Rs. 56.15 Arba and a contingency fund worth Rs. 37.20 crores.

    The Net Premium increased by 10.84% to Rs. 7.53 Arba in FY 2079/2080 from Rs. 6.79 Arba in the previous year’s equivalent quarter. The firm earned Rs. 2.12 arba through investment, loans, and other sources. NLICL reports a write-back for potential losses of Rs. 70.53 Lakh for this period.

    Asian Hydropower Limited will issue 6,97,200 unit shares with a face value of Rs 100 starting today, March 27th, 2079. The company expects to earn Rs 6.97 crore from this IPO. This issue’s early closing date is Falgun 2, 2079, and if it is not fully subscribed, it can be extended until Falgun 12, 2079. Out of the total 840,000 units, 10%, or 84,000 units, have already been issued and allotted to Nepalese citizens working abroad, 2%, or 16,800 units, have been set aside for the company’s employees, and 5%, or 42,000 units, have been set aside for mutual funds.     Visiting Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, met with Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel at the latter’s office  in Singha Durbar today. The meeting touched on an array of subjects including the bilateral relations between Nepal and the US, it has been said.

    On the occasion, Minister Paudel said Nepal for the first time got foreign assistances after signing the point for programme in 1951, and the development partnership between the two countries reached a new height so far since. He also recalled the 75th anniversary of the bilateral relations between the two countries last year.

A total of 10,502,649 shares were traded, totaling Rs. 3.691 Arba in activity. This is more than the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 3.362 Arba.The largest turnover was Rs. 11.28 crores by Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC), which closed at a market price of Rs. 852 per share. API Power Company Ltd. (API) had the greatest trading volume.
