    Last Day to Be Eligible for 1: 2 Rights Offering of Ghalemdi Hydro (GHL)


    Today marks the final day for individuals to qualify for Ghalemdi Hydro Limited’s (GHL) rights offering. The company is set to distribute 200% right shares valued at Rs. 1.10 Arba, achieved by issuing 11,000,000 (1:2) units of right shares to its current shareholders. This move is in line with GHL’s intention to secure at least a 51% stake in the Chujung Khola hydropower project, which is a 63 M.W. PRoR project located in Sankhuwasabha and promoted by Shangrila Urja Pvt. Ltd.

    GHL’s existing paid-up capital stands at Rs. 55 Crores. Upon the execution of the proposed right share issuance, which amounts to 1.10 crore units, the company’s paid-up capital will substantially increase to Rs. 1.65 Arba.

    Muktinath Capital has been designated as the issue manager for this process.

    The book closure date for this offering is set for Kartik 03, 2080. Consequently, shareholders holding shares as of today will be eligible for the rights offering. As of the most recent data available, the last traded price for GHL shares was Rs. 175 per share.

    The financial highlights for the month of Falgun have been published by NIC Asia Balanced Fund (NICBF), a 10-year close-end mutual fund scheme managed by NIC Asia Capital. The period’s NAV was Rs. 10.73, which was lower than the previous month’s NAV of Rs. 11.26.

    The scheme started with a Rs. 75.50 crore fund, including seed capital from the fund sponsor. The scheme has spent Rs. 43.10 crores on listed company shares and Rs. 19.52 crores on debentures. Non-listed shares are worth Rs. 1.34 crores. The amount invested in fixed deposits is Rs. 9 crores, and the bank balance is Rs. 4.38 crores.

    According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, inflation remained at 7.88 percent year on year. During the mentioned period, the gross foreign exchange reserves stood at USD 10.50 billion, while total imports and exports decreased by 19.9 percent and 29 percent, respectively, and the trade deficit decreased by 18.7 percent.

    The outstanding concessional loan was Rs.210.96 billion as of mid-February 2023, with 148,295 borrowers. For selected commercial agriculture and livestock businesses, Rs.142.56 billion has been extended to 61,335 borrowers. Similarly, 84,105 women entrepreneurs have received loans totaling Rs.65.19 billion. A total of 2,855 borrowers have received concessional loans in other specified sector

    The Vijaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (VLBS) transaction has been halted, according to the official notice of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), since the business declared dividends to be given to shareholders without first receiving authorisation from NEPSE.

    At 6:35 PM on Magh 25, after business hours, Nepal Stock Exchange received the letter from VLBS regarding the dividend declaration for the Fiscal Year 2078/79. However, on Magh 10 itself, Vijaya Laghubitta held a meeting to suggest dividends to the shareholders.
