    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index faced a significant setback, recording a loss of 70.31 points or 3.38% from the previous day’s closing, concluding at 2,007.69 points. The market witnessed a remarkable surge of 6% on the preceding day, leading to a series of trading halts and ultimately resulting in the early closure of the market. The total turnover in NEPSE during this period reached an impressive Rs 37.52 Crores, with the market concluding at 2,078 points, reflecting a noteworthy triple-digit gain of 117.70 points.

    The trading day commenced with the NEPSE index opening at 2,094.71, experiencing an intraday low of 2,003.77 and reaching a peak at 2,095.19. In today’s trading session, 316 different stocks were traded in 69,208 transactions, with a total volume of shares traded amounting to 11,467,599 and a turnover of Rs. 4.11 Arba. The market’s total capitalization stood at Rs. 31.55 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.78 Kharba.

    Sonapur Minerals And Oil Limited (SONA) dominated the turnover, reaching Rs. 41.91 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 493.80. Among the gainers, Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GLBSL) led with a gain of 8.73%, followed by Global IME Balanced Fund-1 (GIBF1) with a gain of 7.85%. On the downside, Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited (BNL) suffered the most significant loss of 10%, trailed by Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd (JOSHI) with a loss of 9.99%.

    Regarding sector indices, only the “Mutual Fund Index” managed to close in the green, gaining 0.66%, while the “Others Index” experienced the most substantial loss at 4.35%.

    The trading day commenced with the index opening at 2,094.71, experiencing an intraday low of 2,003.77, and reaching an intraday high of 2,095.19. In today’s trading, 316 different stocks were traded in 69,208 transactions, with a total volume of shares reaching 11,467,599 and a turnover of Rs. 4.11 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 31.55 Kharba, featuring a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.78 Kharba.

    The Department of Customs has reported a significant increase in cement and clinker exports from Nepal to India, totaling Rs. 2.6 Arba during the first seven months of the current fiscal year (from Shrawan to Magh). This represents a notable 168% rise compared to the previous fiscal year’s exports of Rs. 77.93 crores. Leading this surge are key players in Nepal’s cement industry, including Palpa Cement, Arghakhanchi Cement, and Balaji Cement, actively contributing to the upward trend. Particularly impressive is the month of Magh, where exports reached Rs. 29 crores, showcasing the strong demand for Nepalese cement and clinker in the Indian market. Over the seven months, a significant amount of 21 lakh 47 thousand 345 tons of cement and clinker have been exported to India.

It is noteworthy that the index had previously suffered a more substantial loss of 27.21 points in the preceding trading session.

    As today’s trading commenced, the market initiated with the index at 2,034.79 points, reaching an intraday peak of 2,043.50 and encountering a low of 2,025.89. Ultimately, the market concluded at 2,033.06 levels.

    In the course of today’s trading session, a total of 314 different stocks were traded through 76,803 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 9,342,546, leading to a turnover of Rs. 3.11 Arba. The market capitalization was reported at Rs. 31.95 Kharba, accompanied by a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.96 Kharba.

    Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) emerged as the leader in turnover, accumulating Rs. 31.73 crores and concluding the day with a market price of Rs. 650.

    While Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SAMAJ) and Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited (BNL) experienced positive circuits, GreenLife Hydropower Limited (GLH) witnessed the most significant decline, incurring a loss of 10%.

    In terms of sector indices, five sectors concluded in the green today, with the “Others Index” experiencing the highest gain of 1.10%, while the “Microfinance Index” recorded a loss of 0.74%.

    Throughout this week, the index fluctuated between 2,108.73 and 2,055.82, experiencing a total volatility of 52.91 points. The previous week had a slightly higher volatility of 53.61 points.

    The most significant intraday loss occurred on Tuesday, amounting to 30.57 points, with a turnover of Rs 4.66 Arba. However, the total turnover for the week stood at Rs 20.46 Arba.

This scheme, proposed by Garima Capital, is a closed-end mutual fund with a fund size of Rs. 1 Arba, divided into 10 Crore units, each valued at Rs. 10. The application for approval was submitted to SEBON on Magh 28. Garima Bikas Bank Limited (GBBL) serves as the Fund Sponsor for this scheme.

    SRLI’s paid-up capital stands at Rs. 4.18 Arba, with retained earnings of Rs. 92.15 Crores, Rs. 2.42 Crores in other equity, and Rs. 11.83 Crores in catastrophe reserves. The company holds a life insurance fund worth Rs. 12.69 Arba and has investments totaling Rs. 15.65 Arba.

    SAHAS achieved notable revenue from power sales, totaling Rs. 1.53 Arba during this period. Despite facing finance expenses of Rs. 64.76 crore and administrative expenses of Rs. 4.94 Crore, the company maintains a robust financial position, with retained earnings at Rs. 2.6 Arba and a share capital of Rs. 3.5 Arba.

    Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited (NIMB) has released an offer letter announcing the issuance of 40,40,000 units of “10% NIMB Debenture 2090” to the general public. This debenture comes with a 10-year maturity period and a 10% coupon rate, and the application period is set from 1st Falgun to 4th Falgun, 2080. In case of undersubscription, the deadline may be extended to Falgun 15, 2080.

    The units, valued at Rs. 1000 each, will amount to a total of 40.40 lakh units. Of these, 60%, equivalent to 24.24 lakh units, will be subscribed through private placement. The remaining 16.16 lakh units, valued at Rs. 1.61 Arba, will be available for public issuance. Additionally, 5%, or 80.80 thousand units, will be allocated for mutual funds. The total fund raised from this issuance is anticipated to be Rs. 4.40 Arba.
