How does long term investing work?

How does long term investing work? 1

Beginner here, please correct my perspective.

I decided to look at nabil’s share price history from 2019 and i’ve come to the conclusion that people who bought at 700-800 a few years ago are at a loss.
I keep hearing the same general notion that “aile kinera rakha ani 5-10 years pachi profit aune badi chances huncha” .
literally a week ago 570-590 bata 500 ma jharyo. How are people profiting like this? dividends le matrai balance garcha ra?
Thank you and sorry if this sounds shallow, i’ve only just begun studying the market

Market ko position ka cha, tyes ma bhar parcha. Bull ko top ma pugya bela, it might not be a good idea to buy and hold. But when the market is in a bear and you make a strategy to buy in regular intervals to negate these potential ups/downs then there is more chances to win in the long run.

In the case of NABIL, it was known that they would not be able to give the same bonus shares/dividends as before. They had just acquired NB bank so their capital was already up. Their 4th quarter report also showed the distributable profit was around 13%. I personally think, it makes NABIL stronger for the coming years.

Yo level ma buy garyo bhane, aali aali tala gayo bhane pani 10-20% ghatla tara badyo bhane the sky’s the limit. Be patient, buy in intervals, and hold. Nobody knows how long the wait could be. But the longer the wait, the higher the market will reach. And dont be too greedy when the market is up, profit book pani garnu parcha. Natra paper ma ma matra dhani bhaincha.

and since 2019 Nabil has given out around 100% bonus shares..so if you had 100 kittas in 2019 you will have almost 200 kittas now…so even though the price has decreased your investment will have increased much more now….
And why are you comparing last weeks price with the present price for long term investment…..short term prices dont matter…that too in a bear market
