Updates on Nepal’s Gold and Silver Markets

Recently, the fine gold market in Nepal has seen a notable adjustment, with prices dropping by Rs. 700 per tola. According to the latest update from the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), fine gold is now priced at Rs. 1,41,600 per tola, down from its previous rate of Rs. 1,42,300 per tola. Similarly, Tejabi gold prices have also decreased to Rs. 1,40,900 per tola, showing a decline of Rs. 700 from its earlier price of Rs. 1,41,600 per tola. This downward revision comes after a recent peak on June 7, 2024, when fine gold had reached an all-time high of Rs. 1,45,000 per tola.

In addition to gold, the price of silver has also witnessed a decrease, falling by Rs. 25 per tola. Currently, the market rate for silver stands at Rs. 1,790 per tola, down from Rs. 1,815 per tola previously. Both domestic and international markets are experiencing this downward trend, with global gold prices at $2,313.60 per ounce and silver prices at $28.79 per ounce. This indicates a negative momentum in the silver market, aligning with the adjustments observed in Nepal’s precious metals market.
