Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index Declines by 0.56% Amid Mixed Sector Performance


Today, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,060.16 points, marking a decrease of 11.60 points or 0.56% from the previous trading day. This followed a slight gain of 5.60 points in the prior session. The day started with the index opening at 2,075.75 points and reaching an intraday high of 2,077.26 points. However, it dipped to a low of 2,055.20 points before settling at the closing value.

Trading activity was robust with 305 stocks involved in 54,793 transactions, totaling 8,727,164 shares traded. The day’s turnover amounted to Rs. 5.47 Arba, contributing to an overall market capitalization of Rs. 32.66 Kharba and a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.06 Kharba. Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led in turnover, achieving Rs. 16.46 Crores and closing at Rs. 1,030.00 per share. NFS also saw a significant surge, hitting the positive circuit with a 9.87% increase to close at Rs. 1033.

However, Sadhana Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SDLBSL) experienced a notable decline, dropping by 6.38%. Sector-wise, only three sector indices ended the day positively, with the “Finance Index” registering the highest gain of 0.45%. Conversely, the “Development Bank Index” recorded the highest loss, declining by 1.03%, indicating mixed sectoral performance amidst the overall market decline.
