The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index dropped by 8.24 points today, marking a decrease of 0.40%, and closed at 2,051.92 points. This follows a decline of 11.60 points in the previous trading session.
The trading day began with the index at 2,059.61 points, hitting an intraday high of 2,059.97 points. It reached a low of 2,046.95 points before settling at the closing value of 2,051.92 points.
In today’s trading session, 333 stocks were traded across 50,281 transactions, with a total trading volume of 8,901,195 shares. The total turnover reached Rs. 4.05 Arba, while the market capitalization stood at Rs. 32.53 Kharba and the float market capitalization at Rs. 11.01 Kharba.
Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the market in terms of turnover, with Rs. 22.76 Crores, closing at Rs. 929.70 per share.
Trishuli Jal Vidhyut Company Limited (TVCL) was the highest gainer of the day, with a 7.09% increase.
However, Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) experienced a significant loss, dropping by 10%.
In terms of sector performance, only three sector indices ended the day in positive territory. The “Others Index” recorded the highest sectoral gain of 0.95%, while the “Finance Index” saw the biggest loss, declining by 2.23%.
