    Today, the NEPSE index had a positive trading session, closing at 2,077.76. It gained 28.38 points, representing a 1.38% increase compared to the previous trading day. On Thursday, the index experienced a small loss of 0.06 points.

    The day started with the index opening at 2,050.36 and reaching a low of 2,049.69. However, it later climbed to a high of 2,085.23 before settling at the closing value of 2,077.76.

    During the trading session, a total of 287 scrips were traded through 73,446 transactions. The total shares exchanged amounted to 8,352,576, with a turnover of Rs. 3.04 Arba. Although the turnover was slightly lower than the previous trading day’s Rs. 3.07 Crores, it was still a significant amount.

However, it also dipped to a low of 2033.43 before ultimately closing at 2049.38.

    .Today, the NEPSE index ended at 2,049.44, experiencing a decline of 39.26 points compared to the previous trading day. This translates to a loss of 1.88%. Yesterday, the index had gained 12.73 points. The trading day started with an opening of 2,090.38 and reached a high of 2,101.59 during intraday trading. However, it also dropped to a low of 2,046.55 before closing at 2,049.44. In total, there were 277 scrips traded through 53,103 transactions, with a turnover of Rs. 3.07 Arba, which is higher than the turnover of Rs. 2.57 Arba on the previous trading day.

    The NEPSE index had a downward trend and closed at 2,075.97 points, experiencing a loss of 21.32 points or 1.02% from the previous day. It had dropped significantly by 53.70 points in the preceding session.

    Despite starting on a hopeful note at 2,096.72 points, the index faced fluctuations throughout the day. It reached a high of 2,113.74 points but also dipped to a low of 2,069.60 points before settling at the closing figure.

    Trading activity remained active, with 276 scrips traded through 64,868 transactions. A total of 9,418,952 shares were traded, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 4.05 Arba. Although lower than the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 5.08 Arba, the market maintained a reasonable level of liquidity.

    Himalayan Life Insurance Limited (HLI) was the most actively traded stock, with a turnover of Rs. 23.94 crores and a market price of Rs. 532 per share.

    Laxmi Equity Fund (LEMF) experienced the most significant decrease, losing 8.95% of its value.

    Among the sector indices, only the “Hotel and Tourism” sector had gains, growing by 2.07%. On the other hand, the “Life Insurance” sector saw the largest decline of 1.83%. This indicates varying performance across sectors, with the Hotel and Tourism sector showing strength while the Life Insurance sector faced setbacks.

    The merger between Gurans Life Insurance Company Ltd. (GLICL), Prime Life Insurance Company Limited (PLIC), and Union Life Insurance Company Limited (ULI) has resulted in the creation of Himalayan Life Insurance Limited (HLI). The merger agreement was signed on Ashad 29, 2079, with a swap ratio of 1:1:1. After the merger, a total of 80,203,837 shares of HLI have been listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), making it the largest merger in the country’s life insurance sector. The individual shares of GLICL, ULI, and PLIC were 25,365,630 units, 23,428,550 units, and 31,409,657 units respectively.

    During today’s trading session, the index opened at 2,067.21 points and reached its highest point of the day at 2,082.97. However, it also dropped to a low of 2,043.84 before settling at the closing value of 2,050.78.

    In terms of trading activity, there were 271 scrips (individual securities) exchanged through 59,813 transactions. The total number of shares traded was 8,651,164, amounting to a turnover of Rs. 3.49 Arba. It’s worth noting that today’s turnover is lower than the turnover of Rs. 4.11 Arba observed in the previous trading day.

    Today, the NEPSE index, which represents the stock market in Nepal, concluded at a closing value of 2,094.33 points. It experienced a significant increase of 52.26 points from the previous trading day, representing a gain of 2.56%. In comparison, on Thursday, the index had gained 5.00 points. The trading day started with an opening value of 2,045.06 points and reached its lowest point at 2,037.90 points before eventually closing at the highest point of 2,094.33 points.

    A total of 280 different stocks were traded today, with a notable number of 70,647 transactions taking place. Throughout these trades, a significant amount of shares, totaling 12,095,966, were exchanged, resulting in a turnover amount of Rs. 4.86 Arba. This represents a higher turnover compared to the previous trading day, which had a turnover of Rs. 3.16 Arba.

    The stock that saw the most trading activity and had the highest turnover was SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM), with shares amounting to Rs. 36.64 crores being traded. The closing market price for SHIVM shares stood at Rs. 585 per share.

    Furthermore, seven stocks experienced a gain of 10% each and reached the positive circuit for the day, indicating a significant increase in their market value. On the other hand, Shuvam Power Limited (SPL) recorded the highest loss of 5.58% during today’s trading.

    Among the various sectors, only one sector closed in the negative territory, namely “Banking,” which experienced a decrease of 0.29%. Conversely, the “Life Insurance” sector gained the highest percentage increase of 6.38% during today’s trading.

    This week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) had only four trading days as Monday was a holiday due to Republic Day. In the previous week, the index had closed at 1,959.12, showing a gain of 4.36% compared to the week before.

    Throughout the week, the NEPSE index reached a high of 1,977.36 and a low of 1,837.43, indicating a volatility of 139.93 points. In the previous week, the volatility was 96.44 points. The largest intraday gain occurred on Tuesday, with an increase of 53.16 points and a turnover of Rs. 2.3 Arba. The total turnover for the week amounted to Rs. 8.95 Arba. In terms of trading volume, more than 2.89 crore unit shares were traded through 155,123 transactions.

    The current market capitalization of NEPSE stands at Rs. 2,74,651.40 million, which is equivalent to Rs. 27.24 Kharba. Despite the shortened trading week, the NEPSE experienced fluctuations and ended with a significant decrease in its index value.

    The price of gold in the local market has reached a new all-time high, increasing by Rs. 500 per tola. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association’s official website, fine gold is currently being traded at Rs. 112,500 per tola, while Tejabi gold is being traded at Rs. 111,950 per tola. Yesterday, the rates were maintained at Rs. 112,000 and Rs. 111,450 per tola, respectively.

    Just the day before, gold prices had already reached an all-time high in Nepal, with fine gold priced at Rs. 112,000 per tola and Tejabi gold priced at Rs. 111,450 per tola. The continuous rise in gold prices has prompted discussions on the reasons behind the significant increase of Rs. 3,900 per tola in just two days in Nepal.

    In addition to gold, the price of silver has also experienced an increase of Rs. 15 per tola. Currently, silver is being traded at Rs. 1,410 per tola in the local market, compared to the previous day’s closing rate of Rs. 1,395 per tola.

    Based on the information provided, it appears that after the merger between IME General Insurance Limited (IGI) and Prudential Insurance Company Limited (PICL), a new entity called IGI Prudential Insurance Limited was formed. The merger agreement was signed on Magh 27, 2079, and the swap ratio was 1:1.

    Prior to the merger, IGI had a total of 18,037,506 listed shares, while PICL had 12,255,843 listed shares. After the merger, the total number of shares listed on NEPSE for IGI Prudential Insurance Limited is 30,293,347 shares (18,037,506 + 12,255,843).

    On Baisakh 27, 2080, IGI Prudential Insurance Limited commenced joint transactions with an open price range set at Rs. 370.82 for the first transactions.

    The price of gold is reaching an all-time high record, and today it experienced significant gains. Fine gold rose by Rs. 2400 in a single day, while tejabi gold increased by Rs. 2350 compared to yesterday’s price.

    According to the official website of the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, fine gold is currently being traded at Rs. 110,500 per tola, up from Rs. 108,100 per tola yesterday. Tejabi gold, on the other hand, is being traded at Rs. 109,950 today, compared to Rs. 107,600 per tola yesterday.

    Just recently, on April 5, 2023, the price of gold reached an all-time high in the Nepalese market. Fine gold was traded at Rs. 111,000 per tola, while tejabi gold reached Rs. 110,450 per tola on that day.

    In addition, silver has also seen a gain of Rs. 15 per tola. The shiny white metal is now being traded at Rs. 1,375 per tola in the local market, up from yesterday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,360 per tola.

    In the international market, the current price of gold stands at USD $1,948.10 per ounce, while silver is being traded at $23.18 per ounce.

The week concluded with the NEPSE index closing at 1,959.12, showing a gain of 81.80 points or 4.36% compared to the previous week’s closing of 1,877.32. In the previous week, the index had experienced a gain of 2.11% from the week before that.

    Throughout the week, the NEPSE index recorded a high of 1,962.55 and a low of 1,866.11, resulting in a volatility of 96.44 points. Comparatively, the previous week had witnessed a volatility of 75.16 points. The fluctuation in the index indicates a certain level of market volatility and movement in stock prices throughout the trading days of the week.
