    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index demonstrated a noteworthy surge, gaining 58.58 points or 2.85% compared to the previous day’s closing, concluding at 2,111.24 points. In the preceding trading session, the index had also experienced a positive trend, accumulating a gain of 22.10 points. The day’s trading activities commenced with the index opening at 2,065.63, touching an intraday low of 2,064.08, and reaching an intraday high of 2,111.24, ultimately settling at this peak as the closing figure.

    Acknowledging the pivotal role of the stock market in the nation’s economic development, the Finance Ministry emphasized the necessity for a collective effort to address prevailing issues and expedite initiatives. The unwavering commitment of the finance minister towards enhancing the stock market has created a positive atmosphere, fostering growth and confidence within the sector.

    In the course of today’s trading, a total of 305 different stocks were exchanged through 82,746 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 10,609,597 with a total turnover of Rs. 4.55 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 33.18 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.30 Kharba.

    SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) emerged as the top performer in terms of turnover, reaching Rs. 37.19 crores and closing at a market price of Rs. 554.

    Five companies experienced a positive circuit today, contributing to the overall optimistic market sentiment. On the contrary, Himalayan 80-20 (H8020) recorded the highest loss of 2.57%, followed by Molung Hydropower Company Limited (MHCL) with a loss of 2.53%.

    Notably, all sector indices concluded in the green, with the “Life Insurance Index” leading the pack with the highest gain of 5.44%, while the “HydroPower Index” recorded the least gain at 0.99%. This robust performance across various sectors reflects a positive trajectory in the Nepalese stock market.

    Similarly, Tejabi gold is available today at Rs. 1,18,450 per tola, reflecting a notable increase of Rs. 600 from its previous price of Rs. 1,17,850 per tola. Additionally, the silver market has observed a slight uptick, with the current rate standing at Rs. 1,390 per tola, as opposed to the closing rate of Rs. 1,405 per tola recorded the day before.

    This surge in gold prices indicates dynamic market conditions, influenced by various factors impacting precious metal values.

    Today, the price of gold in Nepal has seen a notable increase, rising by Rs. 500 per tola. According to information provided by the official website of the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, fine gold is currently being traded at Rs. 113,000 per tola. This marks a rise from yesterday’s rate, which was maintained at Rs. 112,500 per tola. Additionally, Tejabi gold is now trading at Rs. 112,450 per tola, as opposed to yesterday’s rate of Rs. 111,950 per tola.

    In tandem with the increase in gold prices, silver has also experienced a gain of Rs. 5 per tola. In the local market, silver is now being traded at Rs. 1,410 per tola, whereas it closed at Rs. 1,405 per tola just yesterday.

    For those tracking international rates, the current price of gold in USD stands at $1,931.20 per ounce, while silver is valued at $23.16 per ounce in the global market.

    In the latest trading session at the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the NEPSE Index closed at 1,985.43 points, marking a notable increase of 16.24 points or 0.82% in comparison to the previous day’s closing figures. This follows a modest uptick of 4.26 points on Monday.

    The trading day commenced with the NEPSE Index opening at 1,970.42 points and reaching a low of 1,960.62 points during the course of the trading session. However, it managed to climb to a high point of 1,986.72 points.

    Throughout today’s trading activities, a total of 272 different stocks were traded, with an impressive 50,296 transactions taking place. This high trading volume amounted to 43,36,583 shares changing hands, contributing to a total turnover of Rs. 1.17 Arba. The overall market capitalization was reported at Rs. 29.92 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.54 Kharba.

    Reliable Nepal Life Insurance Limited (RNLI) took the lead in terms of turnover, with transactions worth Rs. 10.64 crores, closing at a market price of Rs. 485.50 per share. Similarly, Shuvam Power Limited (SPL) recorded the highest gain of the day at 10%, followed closely by Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) with a gain of 9.99%.

    Conversely, Emerging Nepal Limited (ENL) experienced the most significant loss for the day, with a decrease of 8.00%.

    Looking at the sub-indices, both the Hotel and Tourism Index and the Trading Index concluded in the negative territory, while the “Hydropower Index” showcased the most substantial gain at 3.21%. The “Mutual Fund and Other” sub-index had a more modest gain, standing at 0.11%.

The trading session began with the index opening at 1,967.26 and hitting an intraday low at 1,967.25 points. However, it later climbed to an intraday high of 2,007.48 before settling at 2,007.06.

    During the day’s trading, a total of 275 stocks were exchanged in 36,045 transactions, with a substantial volume of 5,144,724 shares traded, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 1.49 Arba. The market’s total capitalization reached Rs. 30.04 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 10.59 Kharba.

    Sanima Bank Limited (SANIMA) has released its fourth-quarter report for the fiscal year 2079-80, showcasing an impressive 25 percent rise in Net Profits. By the end of FY 2079-80, the bank achieved a significant milestone, earning Rs. 2.61 Arba, a substantial increase compared to the Rs. 1.24 Arba earned in the same quarter of FY 2078-79.

    The bank has seen remarkable growth in both Net Interest Income and Operating Profits, experiencing a substantial 39.50 percent and 27.96 percent increase, respectively. In the final quarter of FY 2079-80, Sanima Bank generated Rs. 6.48 Arba in core business revenue and Rs. 3.78 Arba in operating profit.

Tejabi gold, on the other hand, is being traded at Rs. 111,850 today, compared to yesterday’s rate of Rs. 111,050 per tola.

    In addition, the price of silver has also seen a rise of Rs. 40 per tola. The shiny white metal is currently being traded at Rs. 1,440 per tola in the local market, whereas the closing rate yesterday stood at Rs. 1,400 per tola.

    It is worth noting that in the international market, the current price of gold stands at USD $1,956.10 per ounce, while silver is being traded at $24.17 per ounce.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association’s official website, fine gold is being traded today at Rs. 110,600 per tola, while tejabi gold is being traded at Rs. 110,050 per tola.

    This increase in gold prices comes after the precious metal reached an all-time high in the Nepalese market on 5th April 2023, with fine gold trading at Rs. 111,000 per tola and tejabi gold trading at Rs. 110,450 per tola. Currently, the international price of gold is at USD $2,015.60 per ounce, with silver being traded at $25.24 per ounce.

    On the other hand, silver prices have also risen in the Nepalese market, gaining Rs. 20 per tola. The white metal is being traded today at Rs. 1,425 per tola compared to yesterday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,405 per tola.

    The increase in gold prices can be attributed to various global factors such as inflation fears, economic uncertainties, and geopolitical tensions. In August 2020, gold reached an all-time high of $2074.88 per ounce in the international market, further highlighting its significance as a safe-haven asset. Despite the fluctuation in gold prices, it remains an attractive investment option for many people, especially during times of economic volatility.
