NEPSE Drops 20.16 Points on Last Trading Day of the Week, Laxmi Sunrise Promoter Shares Witness High Turnover
In today’s trading, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index concluded at 1,874.60 points, marking a significant loss of 20.16 points or 1.06% compared to the previous day’s close, which had seen a gain of 5.16 points. The trading day began with the index opening at 1,895.28, reaching its lowest point at 1,870.19, and peaking at 1,897.60.
During today’s trading, there were 292 different stocks involved in 62,046 transactions. The total volume of shares traded amounted to 7,558,542 units, with a total turnover of Rs. 1.70 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 28.72 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was Rs. 10.06 Kharba.

What is the parameter to look for in scrip by sector?
Hello everyone, newbie here. Asking experienced folks here on how you choose a scrip. Eg what is the parameter to look for in let’s say hydro vs bank? Are banks and (micro)finances evaluated similarly for stock picking? Are ROE, EPS, PE, PB all that we need to care about? I am specially interested on long term capital growth instead of active and/or swing trades. Of course this is not a question of which one should I buy. Thanks.

The NEPSE Index fell by 0.72% to close at 1,892, while SHIVM had the most turnover of any scrip.
The NEPSE index finished at 1,892 today, down 13.68 points from the previous trading day’s close. This is a 0.72% decrease. Yesterday, the index rose 17.36 points.
The index started the day at 1,907.54 and reached an intraday high of 1,913.28. In comparison, it dropped as low as 1,888.89 before closing at 1,892.
Through 23,429 transactions, 264 scrips changed hands. A total of 2,571,202 shares were traded, totaling Rs. 84.7 crores in turnover. This is less than the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 88.55 Crores.
