    The Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasts 4.1 percent economic growth in Nepal in 2023, with inflation at 7.4 percent.

    According to the April 2023 Asian Development Outlook (ADO), Nepal’s economic growth rate is expected to slow in 2023 compared to last year due to tight monetary policy, sluggish domestic demand, the unwinding of pandemic stimulus, and persistent global headwinds.

An IPO allows a company to raise funds by selling ownership stakes to a diverse group of investors. It is a method for businesses to obtain public funding in order to support operations or grow.

    A company that wants to go public typically hires an investment bank to handle the IPO. The investment bank and the company will work together to determine the appropriate stock price and quantity to be distributed. Following that, the company will file a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) detailing its finances and other information.

    The NEPSE index finished yesterday at 1,949.06, up 22.65 points from the previous trading day’s close.

    The deadline for the sale of 2,96,000 units of promoter share has been extended till Chaitra 6, 2079, according to Kumari Bank Limited (KBL).

    KBL’s existing promoters have started auctioning off their 2,96,000 unit promoter stake. The auction began on the 16th of Falgun and was scheduled to end tomorrow, on the 30th of Falgun, 2079. Nevertheless, because the auction organizer received insufficient applications, the sale has been extended until Chaitra 6.

    Individual investors, businesses, and institutions can all bid in an auction. The minimum bid is Rs. 119. The promoters’ shares have a minimum bid quantity of 10,000 units. Although bidders may bid for the full issue, they must follow the Nepal Rastra Bank’s guideline not to bid more than once.

    According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, inflation remained at 7.88 percent year on year. During the mentioned period, the gross foreign exchange reserves stood at USD 10.50 billion, while total imports and exports decreased by 19.9 percent and 29 percent, respectively, and the trade deficit decreased by 18.7 percent.

    The outstanding concessional loan was Rs.210.96 billion as of mid-February 2023, with 148,295 borrowers. For selected commercial agriculture and livestock businesses, Rs.142.56 billion has been extended to 61,335 borrowers. Similarly, 84,105 women entrepreneurs have received loans totaling Rs.65.19 billion. A total of 2,855 borrowers have received concessional loans in other specified sector

    The price of gold has decreased by Rs. 500 per tola today.

    According to the official website of the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, fine gold is being traded today at Rs. 101,000 per tola. In the last three days, the price of gold has decreased by Rs 1,800 per tola. The price of gold and silver has decreased for the third consecutive day i.e since Tuesday.

    Meanwhile, Tejabi gold is being traded at Rs. 100,500 today. In contrast, the rate was maintained yesterday at Rs. 100,000 per tola.

    On the sideline, silver has also lost Rs. 5 per tola. The lustrous white metal is being traded in the local market today at Rs. 1,220 per tola, compared to yesterday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,225 per tola.

    SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) shares traded the most and had the highest turnover of Rs. 7.85 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 455 per share.

    Shuvam Power Limited (SPL) gained the highest 9.98% and technically hit positive for the day.

    Conversely, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme – 2 (SIGS2) lost the highest 5.81% today.

    All sector indices closed green, “Hydropower” gained the highest 3.59% while “Manufacturing And Processing” gained the least 1.53% today.
