    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a loss of 30.56 points, equivalent to 1.45%, closing at 2,070.59 points, following a previous day’s gain of 15.33 points. The market opened at 2,101.56, hitting a low of 2,064.84 and reaching a high of 2,101.55 during the day.

    In today’s trading, 305 different stocks were traded in 82,899 transactions, with a total volume of 12,165,202 shares and a turnover of Rs. 4.66 Arba. The market capitalization was Rs. 32.54 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was Rs. 11.16 Kharba.

    However, during the same period, there was a 50.90% increase in net claims, totaling Rs. 73.15 Crores.

    Key financial indicators reflect HRL’s strong performance, with an annualized EPS of Rs. 12.05, net worth per share at Rs. 147.31, and a P/E ratio of 41.30 times, indicating the company’s resilience and promising financial outlook.

    Nepal Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has released its report for the second quarter of fiscal year 2080/81, showing a significant rise in net profit by 232.33%. The company earned a net profit of Rs. 49.77 crores compared to Rs. 14.97 crores in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

    Moreover, NICL has also increased its insurance fund by 4.95%, reaching Rs. 1.81 Arba in Q2 of FY 2080/81. Additionally, there has been a notable surge of 346.45% in the company’s income from investments, loans, and other sources, totaling Rs. 71.43 crores.

This move is expected to significantly reduce finance costs, as the company’s financial obligations will now primarily focus on short-term liabilities. As a result, a substantial portion of the sales revenue is expected to be channeled towards strengthening reserves.

    Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) has scheduled its 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 20th of Falgun, 2080, to be held at Rastriya Sabha Griha, Pradarshani Marg, Kathmandu, starting at 11:00 AM.

    One of the key agendas of the AGM is the approval of a 4.21% dividend for the fiscal year 2079/80. During the 55th board of directors meeting on Magh 25, it was decided to distribute the dividend on the paid-up capital of Rs. 10 Arba. The proposed distribution includes 4% bonus shares and 0.21% cash dividend for tax purposes. This translates to bonus shares valued at Rs. 40 crores and a cash dividend of Rs. 2.10 crores.

In a board meeting on the same day, it was decided to distribute dividends on the paid-up capital of Rs. 2.30 Arba. This includes 8.63% bonus shares valued at Rs. 19.86 crore and 6.37% cash dividend (inclusive of tax) valued at Rs. 14.66 crore. The same cash dividends are now being distributed.

    The price of fine gold has dropped by Rs. 500 per tola, according to the latest update from the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA). Currently, fine gold is trading at Rs. 1,18,000 per tola, down from yesterday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,18,500 per tola.

    Similarly, Tejabi gold is now priced at Rs. 1,17,450 per tola, showing a decrease of Rs. 500 compared to yesterday’s closing price of Rs. 1,17,950 per tola.
