    The IPO allotment of Chirkhwa Hydro Power Limited has been successfully concluded at the offices of the issue manager, RBB Merchant Banking Limited in Kathmandu.

    Chirkhwa Hydro Power Limited had initially issued 8,59,300 unit IPO shares at a par value of Rs 100 for the general public from the 23rd to the 26th of Ashwin, 2080. Previously, the company had allocated 4,00,000 unit shares, equivalent to 10% of the issued capital, to project-affected locals in the Bhojpur District. However, only 2,04,700 units were allotted to valid applicants, leaving 1,95,300 unsubscribed units. These unsubscribed shares have now been combined with the 8,00,000 units (20% of the issued capital reserved for the general public), resulting in a total of 9,95,300 units available for the general public.

    Out of the 9,95,300 units, 80,000 units were already issued and allotted to Nepalese citizens working abroad, 40,000 units were designated for mutual funds, and 16,000 units were set aside for company employees. The remaining 8,59,300 units were open for the general public.

    The IPO received a remarkable response, with 11,31,936 valid applicants applying for a total of 1,21,36,760 units, oversubscribing the offering by more than 14.12 times. The allotment process involved 85,930 applicants being allocated 10 units each through a lottery system, while the remaining 10,46,006 applicants were not allotted any shares. Additionally, 40,000 units were allotted to mutual funds, and 16,000 units were designated for company employees.

    Notably, a total of 2,381 applicants who had applied for 32,700 units were disqualified. The IPO results are available through various channels, including CDSC IPO Result, MeroShare, and RBB Merchant Banking Limited.

    Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited, established in January 2009, is actively engaged in the development of a 4.7 MW Upper Chirkhwa Khola Hydropower Project in the Bhojpur district, Province-1 of Nepal. This project is categorized as a run-of-the-river (R-o-R) type and is being developed at a 40% probability of exceedance. The project’s budgeted cost is NPR 910 million, with funding in a 60:40 debt-equity ratio. The debt component of NPR 545 million is secured with Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited. The project has achieved approximately 90-95% progress as of mid-January 2023. Furthermore, ICRA Nepal has reaffirmed Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited’s issuer rating at [ICRANP-IR] BB-, signifying a moderate risk of default regarding the timely servicing of financial obligations.

    Starting today, the existing promoters of Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) have initiated the auction of 5,30,000 units of shares, making them available to both the general public and institutions. This auction commenced on the 14th of Kartik, 2080, as per the Nepali calendar.

    The minimum auction rate for the 5,30,000 promoter shares of KBL has been set at Rs. 101. Eligibility for participation in the auction extends to both the general public and institutions, with a submission deadline for bids falling on the 20th of Kartik.

    Shareholders interested in bidding for these shares should submit their bids at Kumari Capital Limited, located at Naxal, Nagpokhari, Kathmandu.

    Notably, Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) had closed at a share price of Rs. 156.00 the previous day. In contrast, Kumari Bank Limited Promoter Share Auction (KBLPO) had a last trading price (LTP) of Rs. 101 as of the 18th of October, 2023.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index concluded the day at 1,864.40 points, recording a decline of 14.29 points, or 0.76%, compared to the previous day’s closing. The index had made a slight gain of 3.04 points during the last trading session.

    The trading day began with the index opening at 1,878.29, reaching an intraday low of 1,860.47, and touching an intraday high of 1,878.98.

    Throughout today’s trading activities, a total of 286 different stocks were traded in 25,625 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 2,258,187 units, with a cumulative turnover of Rs. 57.14 Crore. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 28.71 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was at Rs. 10.07 Kharba.

    SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Company Limited (SJLIC) had the highest turnover for the day, with a trading value of Rs. 1.70 crores, and it closed at a market price of Rs. 480.

    Similarly, Mahuli Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MSLB) exhibited the most significant gain, with a rise of 6.05% in its value during today’s trading.

    On the other hand, Sonapur Minerals And Oil Limited (SONA) experienced the most substantial loss, declining by 9.98% today. The stock entered a negative circuit for three consecutive days, resulting in this decline in its trading value.

    In terms of sector indices, all sectors closed in the red. The “Life Insurance” sector saw the most significant loss, with a decrease of 1.46%, while the “Others Index” recorded the smallest loss of 0.26% for the day.

    The Securities Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) has granted approval for the proposed initial public offering (IPO) of Himalayan Re-insurance Limited. This reinsurance company plans to issue 30,000,000 equity shares to the general public at a price of Rs. 206 per share, with a face value of Rs. 100 and a premium of Rs. 106 per share. This IPO issuance aims to raise a total of Rs. 6.18 Arba for the company. It’s noteworthy that the initial IPO price was set at Rs. 208 per share but has been revised to Rs. 206.

    The responsibility of managing this IPO issuance has been entrusted to NMB Capital Limited, and the application for SEBON’s approval was submitted on the 26th of Bhadra, 2080. Himalayan Re-insurance Limited is poised to become the second reinsurance company in Nepal to offer an IPO to the public.

    Himalayan Reinsurance, a pioneering private-sector reinsurance firm in Nepal, specializes in providing reinsurance support to both Life and Non-Life Insurance Companies, both within Nepal and internationally. The company obtained its operational license in 2021.

    The prominent promoters of Himalayan Reinsurance include leading business conglomerates in Nepal and significant financial institutions. Notable names among the promoters are Golchha Group, Shanker Group, Infinity Holdings, Lucky Group, Ramesh Corp, Shiv Shakti Group, Himalayan Infrastructure Fund Ltd., Shalimar Investment, Saffron CK Investments, Vaishnav Enterprises, Murarka Group, K L Dugar Group, M V Dugar Group, R H Group, M S Corp, IME Group, Prem Gurung and Group, Ashlesha Enterprises, Allied Continental, and Balaji Marbles. Additionally, two of Nepal’s prominent commercial banks, Nepal Bank Limited and Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited, are among the promoters.

    As of the end of the third quarter, Himalayan Reinsurance had a paid-up capital of Rs. 7 Arba and maintained reserves and a surplus of Rs. 38.58 crores. The company displayed significant growth in Net Premium, with a remarkable 612.61% increase, totaling Rs. 3.38 Arba up to the third quarter of the fiscal year 2079/80.

    ICRA Nepal has reaffirmed an issuer rating of [ICRANP-IR] A- (pronounced ICRA NP Issuer Rating A Minus) for Himalayan Reinsurance Limited. This rating indicates a reasonable level of safety regarding the timely servicing of financial obligations and suggests low credit risk associated with the company.

Notably, Mr. Nand Kishore Rathi is the Chairman of the company and is well-regarded, with ties to NMB Bank and Kumari Bank.

    A total of 684,454.11 units of bonus shares issued by Reliance Finance Limited (RLFL) have been officially listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).

    This action follows RLFL’s 13th Annual General Meeting, which took place on the 31st of Ashad, where shareholders approved a dividend payout of 6.84% for the fiscal year 2078/79. The decision to distribute this dividend was made during a board of directors meeting held on Jestha 26. The dividend is based on the paid-up capital of the company, which stands at Rs. 1.05 Arba. The dividend includes 6.5% in bonus shares, valued at slightly over Rs. 6.84 crores, as well as 0.34% in cash dividend, which also accounts for taxes, amounting to Rs. 36.02 lakhs.

    These bonus shares have now been officially listed and are available for trading on the NEPSE. In the most recent trading session, RLFL concluded at a price of Rs. 311 per share.
