  • Sarbootam cement IPO does an institutional investor get their IPO on hold for 6 months just like a mutual fund

Sarbootam cement IPO does an institutional investor get their IPO on hold for 6 months just like a mutual fund

Recently SEBON came up with an initiative that does not allow mutual funds to sell IPOs for 6 six-month period, does this rule apply to institutional investor who holds 24 lakh kitta of sarbottam cement??? If those 24lakhs kitta is on hold for 6 months we could see some more uptrend.

  • Should you (as a retail investor) hold HRL share?

Should you (as a retail investor) hold HRL share?

    POV: A CA Aspirant ( 3rd year).

Himalayan Reinsurance Limited is a newly listed IPO whose capital is as below:

    1. Promoter : 70,000,000
    2. Public : 30,000,000

Only the public shares are tradeable atm in the stock exchange. The maximum shares a retailer was allotted was 180 (foreign) and minimum was 10 (general). All the tradeable shares are in the hands of the retail traders.

Let’s look at the volume trades so far.

    1. 8 Jan 2024 1st day – 30,866
    2. 9 Jan 2024 2nd day- 10,699
    3. 10 Jan 2024 3rd day – 17,000
    4. 11 Jan 2024 4th day – 37,455

These volumes are small compared to the listed size.

These all factors indicate that the retailers have the sentiment of ” Hold is gold”. It’s direct competitor is Nepal Reinsurance Company whose LTP is 661.40.

Further second quarter of FY 2080-81 is about to end and there is a strong probability of lower interest rate from commercial banks that discourages people to save money (even in FDs.). Monetary review might also give favorable environment for stock market as the Government is in need of money and capital gain tax is a great source of revenue.

Hydropower sector has also signaled the possibility of break through and bull run.

“Game Stop” stock market is a great example that retail traders can win over institutional investors.

So I suggest retailers to hold the shares of HRL.

  • Hold for now (short term traders)

Hold for now (short term traders)

nepse will give investors a selling opportunity for a few days (probably till monday). If you are planning to buy now, dont do it, and if you are planning to sell now, sell in a few days. Note: This is my prediction only, neither I am liable for any of your losses, nor a part of any of your profits.

  • Radhi Sana Hydropower Project’s 4.4 MW Capacity Put on Hold Due to Flood Damage

Radhi Sana Hydropower Project’s 4.4 MW Capacity Put on Hold Due to Flood Damage

The Radhi Sana Hydropower Project, with a capacity of 4.4 MW and owned by Radhi Bidyut Company Limited (RADHI), has come to a halt due to flooding. The recent flood and landslide on Ashad 22 caused significant damage to the project’s headworks and head race pipe, resulting in the suspension of energy production.

Located in the Lamjung district of the Gandaki Province in Nepal, the Radhi Sana Hydropower Project operates as a run-of-the-river (R-o-R) type project. It was designed with a 40% probability of exceedance (Q40). Although the project was scheduled for commercial operation by April 13, 2013, it faced delays and was finally commissioned on June 14, 2014, approximately a year later than the required commercial operation date (RCOD).

Unfortunately, the recent flood has caused significant damage to the project’s infrastructure, leading to a temporary halt in energy generation. The company is likely assessing the extent of the damage and will need to undertake necessary repairs before resuming operations.

The interruption in the Radhi Sana Hydropower Project’s functioning is a setback for the company, as it impacts their ability to contribute to the local energy grid and meet the region’s power demands. Efforts will now be focused on restoring the damaged components and ensuring the project can resume its operations as soon as possible, providing clean and sustainable energy to the area once again.
