    The Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasts 4.1 percent economic growth in Nepal in 2023, with inflation at 7.4 percent.

    According to the April 2023 Asian Development Outlook (ADO), Nepal’s economic growth rate is expected to slow in 2023 compared to last year due to tight monetary policy, sluggish domestic demand, the unwinding of pandemic stimulus, and persistent global headwinds.

    After a successful merger between Siddhartha Insurance Limited (SIL) and Premier Insurance Company (Nepal) Limited (PIC), 28,065,499 shares of Siddhartha Premier Insurance Limited (SPIL) were listed on NEPSE.

    On the 27th of Ashad, 2079, SIL and PIC inked a merger agreement. The corporation had agreed to a merger with a swap ratio of 1:1. SIL’s paid-up capital was Rs. 1,403,920,000. PIC’s paid-up capital was Rs. 1,402,629,900 at the time. The newly combined firm “Siddhartha Premier Insurance Ltd” has a total paid-up capital of Rs. 2.8 Arba.Following a successful merger, SIL and PIC began the joint transaction as Siddhartha Premier Insurance Limited (SPIL) on Falgun 17, 2079. As a result, the listed shares will begin trading under the ticker “SPIL.”

    Insurance companies are competing with one another to collect more premiums. Out of its 1.4 crore total active insurance policies, life insurance companies collected a total premium of Rs. 93.75 Arba during the fiscal year 2079/80.

    According to a report published by the Nepal Insurance Authority, Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited collected Rs. 24.37 Arba on its own, with 978,626 active insurance policies as of Falgun, 2079.

    The company intends to distribute 11,250,000 unit shares to employees and the general public. Employees will be issued shares at a par value of Rs. 100, while the general public will be issued shares at a price of Rs. 290 per share (Rs 100 face value + Rs 190 premium price). The company will raise a total of Rs. 3,155,625,000 through the IPO.
