Nepal Life Insurance Company has resolved insurance claims totaling Rs 69.62 Arba as of the end of Ashoj, 2080. The disbursements primarily include death-related claims distributed among 13,512 policyholders and their nominees, encompassing both local and international beneficiaries, with a cumulative payout of Rs 5.68 Arba. The company, aiming for efficiency, has successfully settled 93% of claims by the conclusion of Ashoj. Furthermore, it commits to a swift resolution for accidental death-related claims within 3 working days and other death-related claims within 7 working days, contingent on complete documentation. Notably, the insurer has achieved a commendable record, settling 46% of claims within 3 days, 67% within 7 days, and 81% within 1 month of the comprehensive documentation submission, as highlighted in the media statement.

Vision Lumbini Urja Company Limited is in the process of concluding its initial public offering (IPO) of 20,75,285 units of shares with a par value of Rs. 100. The IPO began on the 16th of Kartik, 2080, and is set to close on the 20th of Kartik.
Previously, the company had issued 19,12,500 units of shares to locals affected by the project in Kaski District, out of which only 14,24,590 units were allocated to eligible applicants. Consequently, the remaining 4,87,910 units of unsubscribed shares from project-affected locals were combined with the initial 19,12,500 units, resulting in a total of 24,00,410 units made available for the general public.
Out of these 24,00,410 units, 191,250 units have already been allotted to Nepalese citizens working abroad, while 95,625 units have been designated for mutual funds. An additional 38,250 units have been reserved for the company’s employees. The remaining 20,75,285 units are now open for the general public to subscribe to.
Muktinath Capital Limited has been appointed as the issue manager for this IPO. Interested applicants can apply for a minimum of 10 units, with a maximum limit of 380,000 units.
Remarkably, according to CDSC (Central Depository and Clearing Limited), a total of 8,47,770 applicants have submitted applications for 98,80,430 units, indicating that the IPO has been oversubscribed by 4.76 times as of 5 PM the previous evening.
Additionally, ICRA Nepal has reaffirmed its ratings for Vision Lumbini Urja Company Limited, with a long-term rating of [ICRANP] LBB- and a short-term rating of [ICRANP] A4. These ratings pertain to the company’s loan limits.
Vision Lumbini Urja Company Limited is actively involved in the development of the 25-MW Seti Nadi Hydroelectric Project in the Machhapuchchhre rural municipality of Kaski District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. The project is classified as a run-of-the-river (R-o-R) type and is being developed with a 44.5% probability of exceedance.

Bindhyabasini Hydropower Development Company Limited (BHDC) has published its Q3 report of FY 2079/80, reporting a 48.81% decrease in net profit. The company’s net profit has reached Rs. 6.41 crores in this quarter compared to Rs. 12.53 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s total revenue stood at Rs. 21.02 crores, with an increase in administrative expenses by 53.78% and a slight decrease in financial expenses.
The paid-up capital of the company stood at Rs. 1.05 Arba, an increase of 40% compared to the previous fiscal year. However, the company suffered a significant decline in net profit due to machinery breakdown, resulting in a decrease in overall production and operations.
Rudi Khola B Hydropower Project, one of the two projects operated by BHDC, had reported damages in the pipeline due to landslides experienced on Shrawan 18, 2079, while issues in the power transformer of the project had been reported on Falgun 01, 2079.
According to the management analysis of the company, the decline in net profits was primarily due to machinery breakdown, resulting in adverse impacts on the company’s overall profitability. Despite the decline, the annualized earnings per share for BHDC stood at Rs. 8.15, while the net worth per share was Rs. 113.69.
