Is it worth it to hold 10 kitta share for long term? 1

Should we sell the 10 kitta share after it is listed in nepse or should we hold it for longer period of time.

Assuming the company is financially stable:

Suppose, you have ten kitta ipo allotment of xyz company and market value is currently RS 500 (around avg industry standard), and the company prospect to show average dividend (assuming bonus) 15 %.

So, in 5 year your bonus is going to be compounded and your Rs 5000 will be worth around Rs 10000.

It’s just Rs 5000 difference and is not going to amount that much, and if you are a student like me, better sell it on its peak after NEPSE listing, and use that money for something more useful.

However, if we are talking about 1000 kittas or even 10000 kittas, then the difference is going to be around Rs 500000/ Rs 5000000. Surely, this number is purely dependent on your initial investment. But think where you could be with Rs 5000 after 5 year and Rs 5000000 after 5 year.

In short, it is not worth to hold small amount of kittas for long term. (Realize their peak value and sell).

If a company is in loss (mostly hydro) then sell and buy a fundamentally strong and cheaper company is my strategy. Waiting to sell Makar, Dolti, Bhugol, Modi. (From various ac)
