    The day began with the index opening at 2,067.47 and fluctuated between an intraday low of 2,053.46 and a high of 2,072.90.

    In today’s trading, a total of 307 different stocks were traded through 70,790 transactions. The volume of shares traded reached 9,272,782, contributing to a total turnover of Rs. 3.21 Arba. The market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 32.40 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 11.12 Kharba.

    Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led in turnover, accumulating Rs. 25.15 crore, and closed the day with a market price of Rs. 657. Additionally, Chandragiri Hills Limited (CGH) and Mid Solu Hydropower Limited (MSHL) experienced positive circuit movements. On the downside, Terhathum Power Company Limited (TPC) suffered the highest loss of 10%.

    In terms of sector indices, two sectors closed in the green today. The “Mutual Fund Index” saw the highest gain at 0.14%, while the “Investment Index” incurred a loss of 1.65%.

    Similarly, Tejabi gold is currently priced at Rs. 1,17,950 per tola, reflecting a decline of Rs. 100 from the previous day’s rate of Rs. 1,18,050 per tola. The downward trend in gold prices indicates fluctuations in the precious metal market within a short timeframe.

    Additionally, the price of silver has seen a decrease of Rs. 5 per tola. The current market rate for silver stands at Rs. 1,410 per tola, in contrast to the closing rate of Rs. 1,415 per tola recorded on the preceding day. These fluctuations in precious metal prices may be influenced by various market factors, including global economic conditions and demand-supply dynamics.

    Today, the price of gold saw a decline of Rs. 1,300 per tola. As reported by the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association’s official website, the current value of fine gold is Rs. 1,20,700 per tola, showing a decrease from yesterday’s rate of Rs. 1,22,000 per tola. Similarly, Tejabi gold is being traded at Rs. 1,20,100 today, marking a reduction of Rs. 1,300 per tola compared to its previous price of Rs. 1,21,400 per tola.

    Just one day ago, on December 28, 2023, fine gold had achieved a historic high of Rs. 1,22,000 per tola, while Tejabi gold had reached Rs. 1,21,400, establishing a record at that time.

    In addition to the gold fluctuations, the price of silver has also undergone a decrease of Rs. 35 per tola. The current market rate for silver is Rs. 1,455 per tola, down from yesterday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,490 per tola.

    Contrasting the recent decrease, on December 4, 2023, fine gold had achieved a historic high of Rs. 1,21,600 per tola, and Tejabi gold had surged to Rs. 1,21,000, marking a record at that time.

    Furthermore, silver has also witnessed a decrease of Rs. 20 per tola, with the current market rate standing at Rs. 1,480 per tola, compared to its closing rate of Rs. 1,500 per tola the day before.

    The global decline in gold prices, now at $2,020.50 per ounce, has had a notable impact on the domestic bullion market. Concurrently, silver is being traded at $24.20 per ounce on the international market.
