    Prabhu Life Insurance proposes dividend for the first time


    Prabhu Life Insurance Limited (PLI) has proposed a dividend of 10.526% for the fiscal year 2077/78. This is the first dividend the company has proposed since being listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).

    The company’s board of directors, at its 140th meeting held on Baisakh 25, has decided to distribute a dividend consisting of 10% bonus shares and 0.526% cash dividend (including tax). PLI has a paid-up capital of Rs. 2 Arba, making the bonus shares worth Rs. 20 crores and the cash dividend worth Rs. 1.05 crores.

    However, it’s important to note that this dividend is subject to approval by the Nepal Insurance Authority and endorsement at the upcoming AGM.

    As of writing, the company’s closing price on the last trading day stands at Rs. 390.

    The merger between IME General Insurance Limited (IGI) and Prudential Insurance Company Limited (PICL) has been finalized, with the two companies agreeing to a 1:1 swap ratio and forming a new entity called “IGI Prudential Insurance Limited”.

    The merger has received final approval from the Nepal Insurance Authority and the Office of the Registrar of Companies, with joint business operations set to begin on May 10, 2023. The newly merged company will have a total paid-up capital of Rs. 3.02 Arba, combining the current paid-up capital of IGI and PICL. Additionally, IGI and PICL announced dividends of 6.32% and 3.5%, respectively, for Fiscal Year 2078/79.

    On 11th Falgun, the firm held its 26th AGM and approved a 13.0579% dividend for fiscal year 2078/79. The board of directors resolved to distribute 12.40% bonus shares and 0.6526% cash dividend on Rs. 1.33 Arba paid-up capital. NEPSE now lists the same bonus shares.

    Similarly, Lumbini General Insurance Company Limited (LGIL) has 9,17,644.50 unit bonus shares listed on NEPSE.

    On 11th Falgun, the business had its 18th AGM and approved a 6.99% bonus share worth Rs. 9.17 crore and a 0.3679% cash dividend worth Rs. 48.29 crore on a paid-up capital of Rs. 1.31 Arba for the fiscal year 2078/79.

The Board of Directors voted at its 512th meeting to pay a dividend of 4.21% on the paid-up capital of Rs. 1.04 Arba. A 4% bonus dividend of Rs. 4.16 crores was proposed, as well as a 0.21% cash dividend (for tax purposes) worth Rs. 21.85 lakhs. NEPSE now lists the same bonus shares.

    PFL ended yesterday at Rs. 378.50.

    Previously, the Nepal Insurance Authority issued a notice inviting applications from companies interested in operating a micro-insurance company in Nepal. Similarly, three micro life insurance companies and four micro non-life insurance companies were chosen to conduct micro insurance activities in Nepal.

    Among the other items on the agenda, the AGM will approve an 8.947% dividend of Rs. 26.01 crores for fiscal year 2078/79. The board of directors decided today (Falgun 30) to distribute 8.50% bonus shares and a 0.447% cash dividend (for tax purposes). The value of the bonus shares is Rs. 24.71 crores, and the cash dividend is slightly more than Rs. 1.30 crores. ALICL’s current paid-up capital is Rs. 2.90 Arba.

    National Life Insurance Company has announced bonus rates ranging from Rs 63 to Rs 85 per Rs 1000 for its insured customers.

    According to the information, the company will offer a Rs 63 bonus for up to 9 years of life insurance, Rs 64 for 10 to 20 years, Rs 70 for 21 to 25 years, and Rs 85 for 26 years and above per Rs 1000 of insured amount. According to the media statement, the company will also provide Rs 64 for up to 9 years of term insurance and full life insurance, Rs 64 for 9 to 20 years, Rs 70 for 21 to 25 years, and Rs 85 for 26 years and above.
