    ‘Himalayan Stock Exchange’ applied for license of new stock exchange


    Himalayan Stock Exchange” has applied for a license to the Nepal Securities Board for a new stock exchange. The application has been filed by Himalayan Stock Exchange, which has been established with the participation of prominent business families in Nepal, including Shankar Group, along with the largest industrial houses in Nepal such as Shekhar Golchha of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, former presidents of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Pashupati Murarka, Rajendra Khetan of Khetan Group, Satish Lal Mor of Lucky Group, Vivek Dugar of Dugar Group, Shourabh Jyoti of Jyoti Group and other major traders and business houses. This is the first application for a stock exchange license by Himalayan Stock Exchange.

    The application has been filed by Himalayan Stock Exchange, along with investment from Rohit Gupta, Ashish Shrestha, Juni Gurung, and Deepak Bhatta.

    The deadline for applying for a license for the commodity exchange (Commodity Exchange) along with the stock exchange is until 10th Baisakh, 2079 (April 22, 2023). So far, only one application has been submitted under the name of Himalayan Stock Exchange.

    Similarly, there has been no application filed until Friday for the commodity exchange. The applications for the stock and commodity exchanges are separate.

    In the third quarter ending Chaitra 2079 (FY79/80), Goodwill Finance Limited’s net profit plummeted by 86.68 percent to Rs 1.99 crore, compared to Rs 15 crore the previous year.

    The decrease in Net Profit is attributable to a variance in other operating income, which has decreased by 46.29% due to an increase in Impairment charges and staff expenditures in this quarter.

    In the third quarter, its net interest income (NII) increased by 57.73 percent to Rs 31.5 crore. Similarly, the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) was 13.46 percent, with Earnings per Share (EPS) falling to 2.82 percent.

    Dolti Power Company Limited’s initial public offering (IPO) was completed today at the offices of NIC Asia Capital Limited in Kathmandu.

    Dolti Power Company Limited offered 12,71,861 units worth Rs 12.71 crores to the general public as an Initial Public Offering (IPO) (Chaitra 28, 2079- Baisakh 3, 2080).According to the allocation module, a total of 1,27,186 candidates were assigned 10 units each by lottery, with one lucky applicant receiving an additional unit, while the rest 11,41,760 applicants were returned with empty hands.

    The Securities Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) has authorized Ghorahi Cement Industry Limited’s proposed initial public offering (IPO) on Baisakh 06, 2080.

    The corporation will now distribute 7,943,801 unit shares. A total of 3,97,190 unit shares are reserved for project-affected locals, while the remaining 75,46,611 unit shares are designated for the general public. The IPO would be issued by the corporation by adding a premium of Rs 300 to the face value of Rs 100, for a total of Rs 400 for project-affected people. Similarly, shares for the general public will be issued at Rs 435 after a premium of Rs 345 is added to the face value.

    Everest Bank Limited (EBL) has released its third-quarter report for fiscal year 2079/2080, which shows a 62.63% increase in net profit. The net profit of the bank has improved from Rs. 1.51 Arba in the third quarter of fiscal year 2078/2079 to Rs. 2.46 Arba in the third quarter of fiscal year 2079/2080.

    After PL Appropriation and Regulatory Adjustments, the bank’s distributable profit in the same period is Rs 3.36 arba.

    The board of directors proposed at its meeting on Baisakh 06 to issue right shares in the ratio of 1:1, i.e. 18,679,626 right shares of Rs. 100 par value worth Rs 1.86 arba, so that the company can invest 50% of the issued right share amount, i.e. 93,39,813 unit right shares worth Rs 93.39 crore, in the Likhu Khola Hydropower Project (30 M.W.) promoted by PK Hydropower Pvt. The remaining 93,39,813 unit shares, valued at Rs 93.39 crore, will be utilized to repay the company’s loan for the Kabeli ‘B’-1 Cascade Hydropower Project in Panchthar.

    The Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) has approved Ridi Power Company (RIDI) to issue a 1: 0.50 right offering.

    The board of directors suggested on the 4th of Magh, 2079, to issue 50% right shares on the paid-up capital after adjusting 40% bonus shares for the fiscal year 2078/79, i.e. Rs. 1,54,89,01,200. The company’s paid-up capital will grow to Rs. 2.32 Arba following the adjustment of the proposed right share, i.e. 77,44,506 units.     RSDC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (RSDC) has released its third-quarter report for FY 2079/2080, which shows an 8.81% decrease in Net Profit. According to the company’s report, net profit fell to Rs. 8.69 crores from Rs. 9.43 crores in the previous year’s similar period.

    The company’s distributable profit after PL Appropriation and Regulatory Adjustments was Rs 5.63 crores in the third quarter.

    On the other hand, the company’s borrowings climbed by 32.42% to Rs. 5.93 Arba, up from Rs. 4.47 Arba in the same quarter last year. In this quarter, the company’s loans and advances to cooperatives climbed by 24.60% to Rs. 6.71 Arba.

    Ingwa Hydropower Limited has distributed IPO shares to Taplejung District residents and Nepalese people working overseas. The allotment program ended on the 4th of Baisakh, and money will be refunded to non-allottee applicants beginning on the 6th of Baisakh, 2080.

    The company’s issued capital is Rs. 60 crores, of which 10%, or 6,00,000 unit shares worth Rs. 6 crores, were distributed to project-affected Taplejung District residents. Meanwhile, 20% of the company’s outstanding capital, or 12,00,000 unit shares, will be made available to the general public later. 10% of the shares in this public offering, totaling 120,000 units, were reserved for Nepalese people working overseas.     The dividend percentage for the fiscal year 2078/79 has been changed from 73.68% to 17.93% by Nesdo Sambridha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NESDO).

    On Chaitra 09, the board of directors resolved to disburse the dividend on the paid-up capital of Rs. 25.50 crores. There was a proposal for 50% bonus shares worth Rs. 12.75 crores and a cash dividend of 23.68% worth Rs. 6.03 crores.

    The dividend was only to be issued following clearance from Nepal Rastra Bank and approval from the company’s upcoming AGM. According to the NRB’s recommendations, the corporation has increased the dividend from Rs. 25.50 crores to a maximum of 17.93%.

    Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited (KSBBL) has scheduled its 16th Annual General Meeting for the 31st of Baisakh, 2080. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. that day at the Siddhartha Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu.

    Among the other items on the agenda, the AGM will approve a 4.64% cash dividend for fiscal year 2078/79. The dividend would be paid from the company’s paid-up capital of Rs. 3.14 Arba. A cash dividend of 0.23% and 4.41% bonus shares have been recommended. Thus, the bonus shares are worth little more than Rs. 13.85 crores, and the cash dividend is worth slightly more than Rs. 72.94 lakhs.

    The book will be closed on Baisakh 15. As a result, shareholders who held shares prior to that date are entitled to dividends and are welcome to attend this AGM.
