    End of Lock-in Period: VLUCL Notifies Investors Regarding Mutual Fund Shares


    Vision Lumbini Urja Company Limited (VLUCL) has informed its investors and stakeholders about the impending end of the lock-in period for 95,625 unit shares held by Mutual Funds. This lock-in period, in accordance with the latest directives from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), is scheduled to expire on the 4th Jestha, 2081.

    VLUCL, with a total of 19,125,000 units of shares listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), reserved 5 percent of these shares exclusively for Mutual Funds. Consequently, 95,625 unit shares were issued and are currently under the lock-in period.

    In compliance with SEBON’s directives, these 95,625 units were subjected to a lock-in period, which is set to conclude on the 4th Jestha, 2081, as communicated to investors and stakeholders.

    As of the previous trading day, VLUCL closed at Rs. 507.00.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index concluded at 1,858.56 points, registering a slight loss of 5.83 points or 0.31% compared to the previous day’s closing. Notably, the index had experienced a more significant drop of 14.29 points during the last trading session.

    The day’s trading activities commenced with the index opening at 1,864.19, reaching an intraday low of 1,853.49, while achieving an intraday high of 1,872.19.

    Throughout today’s trading, a total of 296 different stocks were actively traded in 77,870 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 3,364,056 units, with a cumulative turnover of Rs. 81.20 Crore. The overall market capitalization stood at Rs. 28.62 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was at Rs. 10.03 Kharba.

    Sonapur Minerals And Oil Limited (SONA) led in terms of turnover, with a trading value of Rs. 14.60 crores, and it closed at a market price of Rs. 234.80.

    Similarly, Sayapatri Hydropower Limited (SPHL) showed the most substantial gain of 9.39% during the day’s trading.

    On the downside, Sonapur Minerals And Oil Limited (SONA) recorded the most significant loss, declining by 7.99% on the day.

    Regarding sector indices, all indices, except the “Investment Index,” closed in the red. The “Investment Index” gained the highest, increasing by 0.08%, while the “Hotels And Tourism Index” saw the most notable decline of 1.01% for the day.

    Jalpa Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (JALPA) has announced that today is the final day for shareholders to avail the proposed dividend. The company has scheduled its 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) to take place on 4th Ashad, 2080. The AGM will be held at The SR Hotel in Tilottama Municipality -01, Drivertole, Rupandehi, starting from 9 AM on that day.

    One of the key agendas of the AGM is to approve a dividend of 15% for the fiscal year 2078/79. The decision to distribute the dividend is based on the paid-up capital of Rs. 16 Crores. It has been proposed to distribute a cash dividend of 0.75%, amounting to Rs. 12 lakhs, and a bonus share dividend of 14.25%, worth Rs. 2.28 crores.

    Today, the index opened at 1,920.09 and closed at 1,901.62. In contrast, it reached a high of 1,922.04 before closing at 1,919.42.

    Through 25,413 transactions, 258 scrips changed hands. A total of 2,539,048 shares were traded, totaling Rs. 81.62 crores in turnover. This is less than the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 1.443 Arba. This is the lowest volume since December 14th, 2022. At the time, the NEPSE index was hovering around 1800, with a turnover of Rs 72.78 crore.

    SBL unit promoter shares worth 114,813 will be auctioned off. Only existing promoters are entitled to bid on the auction within 35 days after its publication, on the 14th Chaitra. Shareholders should submit their bids to the bank’s headquarters office in Hattisar, Kathmandu.
