The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a notable rise today, climbing by 21.27 points, or 1.00%, to close at 2,140.97 points. This follows an increase of 15.46 points in the previous trading session.
The trading day opened with the NEPSE index at 2,122 points, hitting an intraday low of 2,121.26 points and peaking at 2,147.12 points before settling at the closing figure of 2,140.97 points.
A total of 325 stocks were traded today across 80,838 transactions, with a trading volume of 14,014,622 shares. The total turnover for the day reached Rs. 6 Arba. The market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 33.95 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.59 Kharba.
NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) emerged as the market leader in terms of turnover, achieving Rs. 21.71 Crores and closing at Rs. 742 per share.
CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) posted the highest gain of the day, surging by 5.25%.
In contrast, Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited (MKJC) faced the steepest decline, losing 10%.
Among sector performances, three sector indices ended in negative territory. The “Hotels and Tourism Index” recorded the highest sectoral gain of 2.25%, while the “Finance Index” experienced the highest loss, declining by 2.07%.
