NEPSE Index Drops 18.76 Points Amid Broad Sector Declines


The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index fell by 18.76 points today, marking a 0.89% drop, and closed at 2,076.49 points. This follows a previous session loss of 17.04 points.

The trading day started at 2,098.6 points and reached an intraday high of 2,099.02 points. The index dipped to a low of 2,073.91 points before settling at its closing value.

Today’s session saw 318 stocks traded over 58,119 transactions, totaling 9,544,734 shares. The total turnover was Rs. 4.05 Arba.

Barun Hydropower Co. Ltd. (BARUN) led the market in turnover, recording Rs. 11.27 Crores and closing at Rs. 308 per share. Meanwhile, Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SAMAJ) hit the positive circuit, surging 10% to close at Rs. 2,409. In contrast, MKLB and KBSH faced significant losses, each dropping by 10%.

All sector indices ended the day in negative territory. The Banking Index saw the largest sectoral loss, down by 1.16%, while the Manufacturing and Processing Index had the smallest decline at 0.52%.
