NEPSE closes at 2,524.50 after gaining 5.51 points due to indecision.


In today’s closing session, the NEPSE closed at 2,524.50, having gained only 5.51 points from yesterday’s closure. This is a 0.22 percent increase in the index. Yesterday, the index had dropped by 2.66 points.

42,512 transactions resulted in the exchange of 228 scrips. The Float is now at 172.99, up 0.13 percent from its previous close, while the Sensitive index is now at 471.24, up 0.05 percent from its previous close.

Among the companies with the largest turnover, Distillery Limited (HDL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 52.55 crores, and it closed at a market price of Rs. 6,870 per share. The most actively traded stocks were of Nepal Bangladesh Bank Limited (NBB).




Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidyut Company Limited (MBJC) gained 9.99 percent, triggering the circuit breaker for the first time in its history. Meanwhile, Narayani Development Bank Limited (NABBC) suffered the most loss, with a 3.39 percent decline.




Eight sector indices finished in the green, while five others finished in the red. The most profitable sector was “Non-Life Insurance,” which gained 2.21 percent, while the most profitable sector was “Development Bank,” which lost 0.7 percent.

Aspects of Technical Analysis to Consider

The began the day at 2,520.55 and an intraday low of 2,513.14 towards the end of the day. It then rose as high as 2,538.65 before settling at 2,524.50 at the close. This resulted in the development of a little green candle with a green body.

Also included in the turnover figure was the exchange of a total of 5,638,279 shares, for a total value of Rs. 3.623 in the number of shares traded. This represents an increase the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 3.125 Arba.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 49.17, which indicates a bullish trend. In the previous day’s reading, the value was 48.68. If the RSI rises over 50, this would signal an increase in intermediate-term rising momentum.

The MACD line is still negative, i.e. below zero, and the signal line is still negative as well, with the MACD reading being -33.08 at this time. This reading was -38.50 when it was taken yesterday. The MACD line crossed the signal line last week, indicating a slight bullish inclination in the market. However, if the MACD reading had been positive, the significance of the crossover would have been greater.
