    Insurance companies are competing with one another to collect more premiums. Out of its 1.4 crore total active insurance policies, life insurance companies collected a total premium of Rs. 93.75 Arba during the fiscal year 2079/80.

    According to a report published by the Nepal Insurance Authority, Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited collected Rs. 24.37 Arba on its own, with 978,626 active insurance policies as of Falgun, 2079.

    On Chaitra 05, 2079, the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) authorized the “11% Mahalaxmi Debenture 2089.”

    Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited (MLBL) plans to issue 10 lakh unit debentures at Rs 1000 per unit. During a period of ten years, the bank will give an interest rate of 11% on the debenture.

    Out of the total number of units given, 4 lakh will be made available to the general public and 6 lakh would be made available for private placement.

    The issue manager is NIC Asia Capital. The offering would generate a total of Rs 1 Arba.

    SBL unit promoter shares worth 114,813 will be auctioned off. Only existing promoters are entitled to bid on the auction within 35 days after its publication, on the 14th Chaitra. Shareholders should submit their bids to the bank’s headquarters office in Hattisar, Kathmandu.

    If no offers are received from existing founding owners by the deadline, the shares will be auctioned off to the general public.

    The financial highlights for the month of Falgun have been published by NIC Asia Balanced Fund (NICBF), a 10-year close-end mutual fund scheme managed by NIC Asia Capital. The period’s NAV was Rs. 10.73, which was lower than the previous month’s NAV of Rs. 11.26.

    The scheme started with a Rs. 75.50 crore fund, including seed capital from the fund sponsor. The scheme has spent Rs. 43.10 crores on listed company shares and Rs. 19.52 crores on debentures. Non-listed shares are worth Rs. 1.34 crores. The amount invested in fixed deposits is Rs. 9 crores, and the bank balance is Rs. 4.38 crores.
