Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index Soars to New Highs


The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a significant rise, closing at 2,364.63 points with a notable gain of 54.04 points or 2.33% from the previous day. This upward trend follows the index successfully crossing the 2300 mark yesterday, indicating strong positive sentiment among traders and investors.

The trading session started with the NEPSE Index opening at 2,323.68 points. It hit an intraday low of 2,311.93 points and an intraday high of 2,364.76 points before closing at 2,364.63 points.

Throughout the day, 306 different scrips were traded in 149,681 transactions. A total of 32,095,937 shares were exchanged, resulting in a significant turnover of Rs. 12.05 Arba. This marks the highest turnover in three years, with the previous peak recorded on August 31, 2021, at Rs. 13.25 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 37.51 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was Rs. 12.86 Kharba.

Singati Hydro Energy Limited (SHEL) led the market with the highest turnover of Rs. 23.55 crores, closing at Rs. 207.40.

Central Finance Co. Ltd. (CFCL) saw the highest individual stock gain of the day, with a 10% increase, hitting the positive circuit. On the other hand, CITIZENS MUTUAL FUND 2 (CMF2) experienced the steepest decline, falling by 9.90%.

All sector indices closed in the green. The Trading Index recorded the highest sector gain with a 7.30% increase, while the Mutual Fund sector posted the smallest gain of 0.08%.
