Systematic Investment plan (SIP) on stocks ?

How many of you are doing SIP on stocks ? What is the best strategy for doing it ? How do you select stocks for this ? What goals or for what time frame are you doing it ? Unlike SIP in mutual funds, since you have to manage it yourself, how hard is it to maintain the discipline ? Thank you

  • Can I buy and sell shares of the same company on the same day?

Can I buy and sell shares of the same company on the same day?

It takes many days for the shares to be added to my DMAT account when I buy. So, I was wondering, if I could do the following:

    1. Buy 20 shares today.
    2. Sell 10 the day it goes up. I still have 10 free shares remaining.
    3. Buy 10 if it goes down after a while on the same day. I still only have 10 free shares.
    4. Sell the remaining 10 if it goes up again.
    5. Buy 10 more if it goes down. And so on.

Basically, am I allowed to juggle my free shares like that? Maybe not the same day but even day by day. I don’t have a lot of money. I am trying to figure out how the share market works, what is allowed and what is not.

To the Mods: Replace Daily Discussion Thread to Weekly Discussion Thread.

Since the Daily discussion thread is dead anyway, a Weekly Discussion thread might increase public participation.

Most of the posts on subs are Daily Discussion threads anyway lol.

    Rekindle the flame.
