    The NEPSE index closed at 1,933.29 today, down 15.76 points from the previous trading day’s close. This represents a 0.81% decrease. This Monday, the index rose 22.65 points.

    The index opened today at 1,952.19 and reached an intraday high of 1,962.94. In contrast, it dropped as low as 1,929.49 before closing at 1,933.29.

    Through 30,485 transactions, 266 scrips changed hands. A total of 3,777,400 shares were traded, totaling Rs. 1.333 Arba in turnover. This is more than the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 1.298 Arba.

    NEPSE has listed 10 million unit IPO shares of Maya Khola Hydropower Company Limited. This includes promoter shares as well as shares issued to the general public and project-affected locals.

    The initial transaction price range is Rs. 88.53 to Rs. 265.59. If the company signs the agreement with NEPSE, the IPO shares will trade in the secondary market the following day.

    Gold prices are once again making news, since the value of gold reached an all-time high on March 19, 2023, i.e. today. Today’s gain is the consequence of a Rs. 2900 one-day increase from yesterday’s pricing.

    According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association’s official website, fine gold is now trading at Rs. 110,000 per tola. Yesterday, the tariff remained unchanged at Rs. 107,100 per tola. Meanwhile, Tejabi gold is currently trading at Rs. 109500. In contrast, the cost was kept at Rs. 106,600 per tola yesterday.

    In the last 10 days, the price of gold has climbed by Rs. 9500 per tola. Gold was priced at Rs 1,00,500 per tola on March 9, 2023.

    Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has made a test version of a virtual trade management system (simulator) available in order to introduce prospective investors to the technology.

    The main concern is, “How does NEPSE’s online method work?” This method was implemented with the goal of educating people and providing useful information.

    According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, inflation remained at 7.88 percent year on year. During the mentioned period, the gross foreign exchange reserves stood at USD 10.50 billion, while total imports and exports decreased by 19.9 percent and 29 percent, respectively, and the trade deficit decreased by 18.7 percent.

    The outstanding concessional loan was Rs.210.96 billion as of mid-February 2023, with 148,295 borrowers. For selected commercial agriculture and livestock businesses, Rs.142.56 billion has been extended to 61,335 borrowers. Similarly, 84,105 women entrepreneurs have received loans totaling Rs.65.19 billion. A total of 2,855 borrowers have received concessional loans in other specified sector

In the last three days, the price of gold has decreased by Rs 1,800 per tola. The price of gold and silver has decreased for the third consecutive day i.e since Tuesday.

    Meanwhile, Tejabi gold is being traded at Rs. 100,500 today. In contrast, the rate was maintained yesterday at Rs. 100,000 per tola.

    On the sideline, silver has also lost Rs. 5 per tola. The lustrous white metal is being traded in the local market today at Rs. 1,220 per tola, compared to yesterday’s closing rate of Rs. 1,225 per tola.

    SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) shares traded the most and had the highest turnover of Rs. 7.85 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 455 per share.

    Shuvam Power Limited (SPL) gained the highest 9.98% and technically hit positive for the day.

    Conversely, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme – 2 (SIGS2) lost the highest 5.81% today.

    All sector indices closed green, “Hydropower” gained the highest 3.59% while “Manufacturing And Processing” gained the least 1.53% today.
