Following a loss of 61.27 points from the previous Thursday’s close, the NEPSE index closed at 2,758,48 points today. On that particular day, the index had risen by 2.7 points.
The index began the day at 2,836.36 and reached an intraday high of 2,844.09 at the close. But it started losing momentum from there, dropping as low as 2,756.51 dollars. After then, the index ended up closing at 2,758.48 points.
During the period under review, a total of 14,494,260 shares were traded, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 6.5 Arba. This represents a decrease from the previous Thursday’s turnover of Rs. 7.726 Arba. A total of 73,693 transactions took place involving 223 scrips.
At Rs. 575 a share, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) had the highest turnover with Rs. 33.95 crores. It was the most profitable company with a turnover of Rs. 33.95 crores. The most actively traded units were those of the Nabil Balanced Fund – 2 (NBF2).
The most profitable company, Manakamana Smart Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MKLB), gained 10 percent, while the most profitable company, HICFC Finance Limited (ICFC), lost 8.98 percent.
Twelve out of thirteen sectors finished in the red. Only mutual funds made a profit of 0.21 percent, while the finance sector suffered a loss of 5.89 percent.
