NEPSE Index Surges to New Highs


The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a remarkable rise, reaching 2,400 levels and closing at an impressive 2,424.32. This substantial gain of 59.68 points or 2.52% from the previous day’s close follows the recent breach of the 2300 level, indicating strong positive sentiment among traders and investors.

Today’s trading session began with the index opening at 2,373.53 points. It reached an intraday low of 2,355.59 points and an intraday high of 2,459.94 points before settling at its closing value of 2,424.32.

During the session, a total of 312 scrips were traded through 184,712 transactions. The volume of shares traded was 39,938,237, resulting in a significant turnover of Rs. 15.54 Arba, the highest in three years. The last peak turnover was recorded on August 29, 2021, at Rs. 15.65 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 38.46 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was Rs. 13.23 Kharba.

Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the market with the highest turnover of Rs. 42.46 crores, closing at Rs. 997.80.

Five companies achieved the highest gain of 10% each, hitting the positive circuit for the day. In contrast, Kumari Sabal Yojana (KSY) experienced the steepest decline, losing 5.76%.

In terms of sector indices, two sectors closed in the red. The Banking Index registered the highest gain with an increase of 6.28%, while the Finance sector posted the highest loss of 1.27%.
