The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a remarkable surge today, jumping by 52.97 points, or 2.40%, to close at 2,257.59 points. This gain follows a 29.21-point rise in the previous trading session, showcasing a period of robust market activity.
The trading session began with the index opening at 2,239.41, hitting an intraday low of 2,230.50, and peaking at an intraday high of 2,290.95 before settling at 2,257.59.
The day saw a bustling trading environment with 309 stocks exchanged across 96,274 transactions. The volume of shares traded reached 22,047,327, amounting to a total turnover of Rs. 7.62 Arba. The market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 35.80 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 12.26 Kharba.
Janaki Finance Limited (JFL) led the market in terms of turnover, achieving Rs. 24.27 Crores and closing at Rs. 825 per share.
Ridi Power Company Limited (RIDI) and Mandu Hydropower Limited (MANDU) also performed notably, each hitting the positive circuit for the day with a 10% rise.
On the downside, the 10.15% Prime Debenture 2084 (PBD84) suffered the most significant loss, dropping by 4.12%.
Sector-wise, all indices ended the day in positive territory. The Banking Index saw the highest gain, rising by 3.74%, while the Microfinance Index experienced a minor loss of 0.82%.
