NEPSE Index Sees Slight Drop Amid Active Trading


The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index dropped by 4.62 points today, marking a 0.21% decrease, and closing at 2,136.35 points. This decline comes after a gain of 21.27 points in the previous trading session.

The trading session began with the NEPSE index at 2,143.95 points. It hit an intraday high of 2,149.19 points and saw a low of 2,128.72 points before settling at 2,136.35 points by the end of the day.

Today’s trading involved 324 different stocks across 59,974 transactions. A total of 10,475,181 shares were traded, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 4.56 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 33.88 Kharba, with the float market capitalization at Rs. 11.57 Kharba.

NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the market in turnover, reaching Rs. 28.7 Crores, closing at Rs. 724 per share.

The biggest gainer of the day was Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SAMAJ), which surged by 9.68%. On the other hand, Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited (MKJC) experienced the highest loss, dropping by 8.39%.

In terms of sector performance, three sector indices ended the day in positive territory. The “Hotels and Tourism Index” suffered the highest sectoral loss at 0.95%, while the “Microfinance Index” recorded the highest gain, rising by 0.92%.
