The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index posted a modest increase today, closing at 2,974.46 points, up by 6.01 points or 0.20% compared to the previous session’s close of 2,968.44 points. This follows a minor gain of 2.11 points in the previous trading day.
The market opened at 2,974.78 points and experienced notable fluctuations throughout the session. The index reached an intraday high of 3,018.93 points and a low of 2,967.47 points before settling at its closing figure.
Today’s trading session was marked by intense activity, with 333 scrips exchanged through 216,455 transactions. A total of 40,951,720 shares were traded, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 19.16 Arba. The overall market capitalization surged to Rs. 47.24 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 16.69 Kharba.
Shine Resunga Development Bank Ltd. (SHINE) emerged as the market leader in turnover, achieving Rs. 1.03 Arba and closing at Rs. 590 per share.
Seven companies hit the upper circuit limit, with a 10% increase in their stock prices.
On the downside, the 10.25% SBL Debenture 2083 (SBLD83) recorded the biggest loss of the day, falling by 10%.
Sector-wise, the “Development Bank Index” led the gains with a 4.52% increase, while the “Trading Index” saw the largest decline, dropping by 1.55%, reflecting a day of mixed performance across the market.
