The NEPSE Index experienced a significant rise today, gaining 37.13 points (1.39%) and closing at 2,690.72. This marks an overall increase of 93.22 points over the last two trading days, with the index having gained 56.09 points yesterday.
The market showed volatility throughout the session, starting at 2,656.8 points. It briefly touched an intraday low of 2,656.35 before rebounding to hit a high of 2,707.16 points. By the close of the day, 305 scrips had been traded in 73,119 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 7.09 Arba, with a total of 15,845,449 shares exchanged.
Chandragiri Hills Limited (CGH) dominated the turnover, with shares worth Rs. 26.23 crore traded, closing at Rs. 952 per share. Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) posted the highest gain of the day, surging by 9.93%. On the other hand, Eastern Hydropower Limited (EHPL) experienced the biggest loss, dropping 10%.
Sector-wise, the Hotels and Tourism Index led the market with a sharp 3.50% increase. In contrast, the Manufacturing and Processing sector saw the largest decline, falling by 1.29%.
