The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a strong recovery today, surging by 127.32 points, or 4.72%, to end at 2,823.25 points. This positive movement follows two consecutive sessions of losses, including a 53.63-point drop in the previous session, which had left the index at 2,695.93 points.
The trading day started with the index at 2,698 points, and the market showed significant volatility throughout. The NEPSE Index reached an intraday high of 2,823.70 points and dipped to a low of 2,678.91 points before settling at the final level.
The market saw active participation, with 335 stocks traded across 160,579 transactions. A total of 31,430,048 shares were exchanged, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 13.10 Arba. Market capitalization rose to Rs. 44.83 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 15.81 Kharba.
Goodwill Finance Limited (GFCL) led in terms of turnover, recording Rs. 46.52 Crore and closing at Rs. 1,330 per share.
Nine companies reached the upper circuit limit of 10%, showcasing strong gains.
On the downside, Laxmi Unnati Kosh (LUK) experienced the largest drop, falling by 4.71%.
All sector indices closed in positive territory, with the Mutual Index gaining 0.80%. The Finance Index saw the smallest increase among sectors, with a 3.44% rise.
