NEPSE Index Jumps 4.08% to Close at 2,759.67 Points


The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a remarkable rise today, closing at 2,759.67 points. This marks a substantial gain of 108.35 points, or 4.08%, from the previous day’s close, recovering from a decline of 145.05 points in the prior session.

The trading day started with the NEPSE Index opening at 2,644.73 points. Throughout the session, it reached an intraday low of 2,630.86 points and an intraday high of 2,759.67 points, eventually settling at its closing value of 2,759.67 points.

Today’s trading was notably active, with 330 scrips exchanged through 212,681 transactions. This resulted in a significant volume of 38,041,267 shares traded, amounting to a turnover of Rs. 17.95 Arba. The market capitalization for the day was recorded at Rs. 43.80 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 14.96 Kharba.

Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led the market in turnover, reaching Rs. 1.53 Arba and closing at Rs. 933.90.

In terms of stock performance, ten companies emerged as top gainers, each hitting the upper circuit limit of 10%.

Conversely, the 10% Sanima Bank Limited Debenture (SAND2085) hit a negative circuit today.

All sector indices closed in the green, with the “Others Index” seeing the highest gain of 7.89%, and the “Mutual Fund Index” recording the lowest gain of 1.01%.
