The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a slight rise today, gaining 6.90 points, or 0.24%, to close at 2,830.16 points. This follows a significant 127.32-point increase in the previous session, where the index settled at 2,823.25 points.
The trading day started with the index at 2,834.42 points, but the session saw considerable volatility. The index hit an intraday high of 2,860.43 points and a low of 2,802.92 points before finishing at the final level.
Trading activity was robust, with 328 stocks exchanging hands through 144,197 transactions. A total of 30,599,890 shares were traded, generating a turnover of Rs. 13.57 Arba. The market capitalization increased to Rs. 44.94 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 15.86 Kharba.
NLG Insurance Company Limited (NLG) led the market in turnover, recording Rs. 34.72 Crore and closing at Rs. 1,270.50 per share.
Ten companies reached the upper circuit limit of 10%, indicating strong performance.
On the downside, Himalayan Power Partner Limited (HPPL) saw the largest drop, declining by 8.86%.
Among the sector indices, five closed positively. The Non-Life Insurance Index was the top performer, gaining 4.78%, while the Finance Index experienced the biggest decline, dropping by 1.57%.
