The NEPSE Index continued its downward trend, dropping by 22.73 points (0.86%) to settle at 2,610.21 on the latest trading day. This follows a previous decline of 13.09 points, reflecting a broader negative sentiment in the market.
The trading session opened with the index at 2,636.30 points, hitting an intraday high of 2,651.19 points before falling to a low of 2,601.91 points. By the end of the day, the index closed at 2,610.21 points.
Market activity remained brisk, with 317 companies trading across 87,036 transactions. A total of 15,428,724 shares changed hands, generating a turnover of Rs. 6.85 Arba.
In terms of turnover, CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) led the market with a transaction value of Rs. 34.73 Crore, with its shares closing at Rs. 2,254 per share.
On the gainers’ side, Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) posted the highest rise, gaining 10%. However, Asian Hydropower Limited (AHL) saw the steepest loss, dropping 6.88%.
Among the sectors, the Life Insurance Index registered the largest decline, falling by 1.87%, while the Finance Index posted the highest sectoral gain of 0.43%.
