The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,796.38 points today, marking a gain of 40.76 points or 1.47% from the previous trading day’s close. This increase follows a minor drop of 5.29 points in the previous session.
The trading day began with the index opening at 2,770.39 points. Throughout the session, the index saw an intraday low of 2,744.10 points and an intraday high of 2,806.69 points before settling at its closing value of 2,796.38 points.
In today’s session, a total of 326 scrips were traded through 238,078 transactions, resulting in a substantial volume of 49,773,730 shares. This activity led to an impressive turnover of Rs. 21.86 Arba. The market capitalization for the day stood at Rs. 44.38 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was Rs. 15.24 Kharba.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led the market in turnover, achieving a value of Rs. 1.26 Arba and closing at Rs. 845.
In terms of stock performance, nine companies emerged as the highest gainers, each hitting the upper circuit limit of 10%.
Conversely, Nepal Finance Limited (NFS) experienced the steepest decline, falling by 10%.
Analyzing the sector indices, seven sector indices ended the day in positive territory. The Hotels and Tourism Index led the gains with a 6.69% increase, while the Finance Index experienced the highest loss, declining by 4.61%.
