The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index recorded a positive shift today, increasing by 11.58 points, or 0.44%, to close at 2,588.35. This rise came after yesterday’s slight decline of 4 points, signaling a recovery in the market.
During the session, the NEPSE Index showed significant volatility. It opened at 2,601.29, touched a high of 2,643.51, and dropped to a low of 2,570.27 before finally closing at 2,588.35.
A total of 325 stocks were traded across 72,957 transactions. The day’s trading volume stood at 12.48 million shares, resulting in a total turnover of Rs. 5.09 Arba.
CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) led the trading activity, recording a turnover of Rs. 27.8 crore. CHDC shares closed at Rs. 2,031 per share, making it the most traded stock of the day.
Three companies saw the highest gains for the day, each rising by 10%, indicating strong investor sentiment in certain sectors. However, Rawa Energy Development Limited (RAWA) experienced the biggest loss, falling by 8.65%.
In terms of sector performance, the Banking sub-index recorded the highest growth with a 1.01% increase, showing resilience and investor confidence. On the other hand, the Hotels and Tourism sector dropped by 0.61%, making it the weakest performer in today’s market.
