Labour minister to prioritise job creation



Newly appointed Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security has said that creating employment within the country and controlling irregularities in the foreign employment sector would be his top-most priorities.

Talking to media persons after assumption of office in Singhadurbar today, Minister Chaudhari said, “I will concentrate on how the problems created by the decline in foreign jobs to migrant workers and shrinkage in labour market in the wake of COVID-19 could be addressed.” He added that many lost their jobs and businesses got paralysed, so creation of employment must be top in the to-do list.

The Social Security Scheme will be made more effective by creating an atmosphere that is favourable in generating jobs within the country, the minister said, adding that the foreign employment sector was still facing problems which also needed proper attention.
