The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) said that Mero Share users surpassed 2.8 million in the current fiscal year 2021/22, up 3.5% from fiscal year 2020/21.
Bhisma Raj Dhungana, Executive Chief of the Board, stated that the Board was successful in contributing Rs 14.15 billion in capital gain tax revenue to the government during the last fiscal year.
The committee heard that up to 2.4 million people apply for a single company’s initial public offering (IPO). Around 880,000 individuals are estimated to be involved in the stock market, and these investors are technologically savvy.
This year, the Board approved an initial public offering (IPO) worth Rs 108.22 billion for various public companies. The issuance of initial public offerings and debentures has also expanded dramatically in recent years. The country’s stock market capitalization has surpassed Rs 4,437 billion.
