    A devastating fire broke out at Bharat Furniture, located in Matihani-8 of the district, causing extensive damage estimated at over Rs 3.5 million. Owned by Dukhmochan Thakur, the furniture industry fell victim to the blaze, which ignited around 10:00 pm on Monday, as reported by the District Police Office, Mahottari. The inferno swiftly engulfed the premises, consuming furniture and raw materials stored within the establishment.

    Efforts to combat the fire involved teams comprising the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and local residents, supported by a fire engine. Despite their collaborative endeavors, the true extent of the damage inflicted by the fire is currently under assessment, highlighting the substantial setback experienced by Bharat Furniture and its proprietor, Dukhmochan Thakur.

    Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBBL) recently listed 2,55,655.77 unit bonus shares on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). The company held its 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 17th of Falgun, during which it approved a dividend of 15.789% for the fiscal year 2078/79.

    In addition to the dividend, the board of directors, in its 231st meeting on Poush 28, decided to distribute 15% bonus shares valued at Rs. 2.55 crores and a cash dividend of 0.789473681%, amounting to Rs. 13.45 lakhs. These dividends were distributed from MLBBL’s paid-up capital of Rs. 17.04 crores. Now, these bonus shares have been officially listed on NEPSE.

    As of the time of writing, the Last Traded Price (LTP) of MLBBL’s shares on NEPSE stands at Rs. 750.

    Balephi Hydropower Limited (BHL) has released its third-quarter report for the current fiscal year, revealing a significant net loss of Rs. 23.72 crores. In comparison, during the third quarter of the previous fiscal year 2078/79, the company had reported a net loss of Rs. 6.06 lakhs.

    During the third quarter of the current fiscal year, BHL experienced a substantial increase in administrative expenses, reaching Rs. 25.59 lakhs. Additionally, the company had to bear financial costs amounting to Rs. 31.19 crores up to the third quarter of FY 079/80.

    With an Earnings per Share (EPS) of Rs. -17.30 and a below-average net worth of Rs. 81.93, BHL faces financial challenges. However, the company managed to generate revenue of Rs. 35.93 crores from the sale of power until the end of the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year.

    According to the management analysis, BHL incurred significant penalties from the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for surpassing the Required Commercial Operation Date (RCOD) as outlined in the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

    BHL is optimistic that once the RCOD issue is resolved, the company will generate sufficient cash revenue to meet its financial and operational obligations. To improve its cash flow, the company plans to issue right shares.

    In a meeting held on Falgun 12, 2079, the board of directors of BHL decided to propose the issuance of rights shares in a ratio of 1:0.5 in the next annual general meeting. The proposal aims to utilize the then-paid-up capital of Rs. 1.827 Arba, resulting in an enhanced paid-up capital of Rs. 2.74 Arba after the 50% right issue.

    At the end of the third quarter of this fiscal year, BHL’s closing share price stood at Rs. 321. Additionally, the company successfully increased its paid-up capital by 10.50%, amounting to Rs. 1.82 Arba.

The company’s net profit has reached Rs. 6.41 crores in this quarter compared to Rs. 12.53 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s total revenue stood at Rs. 21.02 crores, with an increase in administrative expenses by 53.78% and a slight decrease in financial expenses.

    The paid-up capital of the company stood at Rs. 1.05 Arba, an increase of 40% compared to the previous fiscal year. However, the company suffered a significant decline in net profit due to machinery breakdown, resulting in a decrease in overall production and operations.

    Rudi Khola B Hydropower Project, one of the two projects operated by BHDC, had reported damages in the pipeline due to landslides experienced on Shrawan 18, 2079, while issues in the power transformer of the project had been reported on Falgun 01, 2079.

    According to the management analysis of the company, the decline in net profits was primarily due to machinery breakdown, resulting in adverse impacts on the company’s overall profitability. Despite the decline, the annualized earnings per share for BHDC stood at Rs. 8.15, while the net worth per share was Rs. 113.69.

    In conclusion, BHDC’s Q3 report highlights the adverse impact of machinery breakdown on the company’s overall operations and profitability, leading to a significant decline in net profit.     The index opened the day at 2,008.26 and reached an intraday high of 2,017.30. It fell as low as 1,970.67 before closing at 1,975.89.

The net profit of the firm climbed to Rs. 22.73 crores in this quarter from Rs. 14.41 crores in the previous quarter.

    National Life has a paid-up capital of Rs. 4.64 Arba and a reserve of Rs. 26.65 crores, according to the unaudited report for the second quarter issued today.

    The corporation has a life insurance policy worth Rs. 56.15 Arba and a contingency fund worth Rs. 37.20 crores.

    The Net Premium increased by 10.84% to Rs. 7.53 Arba in FY 2079/2080 from Rs. 6.79 Arba in the previous year’s equivalent quarter. The firm earned Rs. 2.12 arba through investment, loans, and other sources. NLICL reports a write-back for potential losses of Rs. 70.53 Lakh for this period.
