    SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Company Limited (SJLIC) recently announced its decision to refrain from distributing dividends for the Fiscal Year 2079/80. This resolution emerged from discussions during the Board of Directors’ meeting held on Falgun 10, 2080, where comprehensive financial details of the fiscal year were deliberated.

    A notable development mentioned in the announcement is the successful merger of Surya Life Insurance Company Limited and Jyoti Life Insurance Company Limited. The merger, accomplished at a ratio of 1:0.8245, resulted in the formation of a unified entity known as “SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Company Limited.” The commencement of joint business operations took place on Poush 7, 2079.

    Formerly, Jyoti Life Insurance Company reported profits from Shrawan 1, 2079, to Poush 6, 2079. These profits have been allocated to the reserve fund of SJLIC. Additionally, a strategic decision has been made to consolidate all assets and liabilities, encompassing capital, reserves, investment amounts, and life insurance funds, into Suryajyoti Life Insurance Company Limited.

    As of the latest update, SJLIC is reported to have a Last Traded Price (LTP) of Rs. 491.20.

    Nepal Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has released its report for the second quarter of fiscal year 2080/81, showing a significant rise in net profit by 232.33%. The company earned a net profit of Rs. 49.77 crores compared to Rs. 14.97 crores in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

    Moreover, NICL has also increased its insurance fund by 4.95%, reaching Rs. 1.81 Arba in Q2 of FY 2080/81. Additionally, there has been a notable surge of 346.45% in the company’s income from investments, loans, and other sources, totaling Rs. 71.43 crores.

    SRLI’s paid-up capital stands at Rs. 4.18 Arba, with retained earnings of Rs. 92.15 Crores, Rs. 2.42 Crores in other equity, and Rs. 11.83 Crores in catastrophe reserves. The company holds a life insurance fund worth Rs. 12.69 Arba and has investments totaling Rs. 15.65 Arba.

This includes 8.63% bonus shares valued at Rs. 19.86 crore and 6.37% cash dividend (inclusive of tax) valued at Rs. 14.66 crore. The same cash dividends are now being distributed.

    Citizen Life Insurance Company (CLI) has notified its investors and stakeholders regarding the upcoming end of the lock-in period for 434,906 unit shares held by Mutual Funds. As per the recent directives from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), this lock-in period, which began on Kartik 20, 2080, will conclude on the 27th of Falgun, 2080.

    CLI had previously allocated 30 percent of its issued capital, amounting to Rs. 3.75 Arba, to the general public. Within this allocation, 5 percent was specifically designated for Mutual Funds, comprising 562,500 units of shares.

    Among the agenda items, the AGM will approve the issuance of right shares and declare an 8.1578% dividend for the fiscal year 2079/80. In a board meeting held on Magh 12, the board of directors decided to distribute 7.75% bonus shares and a 0.4078% cash dividend (for tax purposes). The bonus shares are valued at Rs. 24.45 crores, while the cash dividend amounts to slightly over Rs. 1.28 crores. ALICL’s current paid-up capital stands at Rs. 3.15 billion.
