    Mai Khola Hydropower Limited Lists 39,21,568 Units of IPO Shares on NEPSE


    Mai Khola Hydropower Limited has successfully listed 39,21,568 units of IPO shares on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). This figure includes shares held by the promoters, as well as shares issued to project-affected locals and the general public.

    The initial trading range for these shares is set between Rs. 111.67 and Rs. 335.01. If the company enters into an agreement with NEPSE, the IPO shares will be eligible for trading on the secondary market the following day.

    Among the total shares available, 12,69,411 units worth Rs. 12.69 Crore were specifically issued as Initial Public Offerings to the general public during the period of Baisakh 8-12, 2080.

    Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Limited (SALICO) has listed 26,226,382 shares on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) following a successful merger between Lumbini General Insurance Limited (LGIL) and Sagarmatha Insurance Company Limited (SIC).

    The merger agreement between SIC and LGIL was signed on 30 Ashad, 2079. The swap ratio for the merger was set at 100:80, resulting in a 20% decrease in the number of LGIL shareholders. After the merger, the total listed shares of SIC and LGIL combined amounted to 26,226,382 units.

    Following the successful merger, SIC and LGIL began conducting joint operations under the name Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Limited (SALICO) starting from Falgun 29, 2079. Consequently, the listed shares will be traded under the symbol “SALICO.”

    The opening price range for the initial transactions has been set at Rs. 599.12.

    The Nepal Chamber of Commerce has announced that it will be hosting the Nepal Chamber Expo 2023 from Jestha 4 to 8, 2080 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Over 150 stalls featuring a wide range of national and international manufacturers will be present at the event. Exhibits will include items such as automobiles, electrical and electronics, home appliances, fashion wear and accessories, garments and textiles, mobile and gadgets, fast-moving consumer goods, hydro, logistics, handicrafts and handlooms, shoes and leather items, cosmetics, and food and dairy products. These details were disclosed in a media statement.

    Ankhukhola Hydropower Company Limited (AKJCL) has proposed to issue 200% rights shares to its shareholders. The company aims to invest 60% of the newly raised capital in the Ganesh Himal Hydropower’s 20 M.W- Ankhu Khola-2 Hydropower project. This decision was made during a board of directors meeting held on Baishakh 15, 2079.

    After the issuance of right shares at a ratio of 1:2, AKJCL’s paid-up capital will increase from Rs. 80 crores to Rs. 1.60 Arba. On Chaitra 23, 2079, a meeting was held where it was decided to invest 60% in the Ankhu Khola-2 Hydropower project. The investment agreement between the two companies was signed on Chaitra 24, 2079.

    The Ankhu Khola-2 Hydropower project is designed to generate 122.16 GWh of electricity annually, based on a river flow rate of 27.73 cubic meters per second and a total head of 91 meters. The electricity produced will be transmitted to the national grid through a 5 km transmission line via the Nepal Electricity Authority’s proposed Lapang Substation.

    AKJCL plans to invest the Rs. 96 crores received from legitimate shares in the Ganesh Himal Hydropower project. The remaining funds will be used to pay off loans and other obligations owed to banks and other financial organizations. However, the issuance of right shares will only occur after approval from the Electricity Regulatory Commission and endorsement by the company’s upcoming AGM.

    The Securities Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) has authorized Upper Syange Hydropower Limited’s proposed initial public offering (IPO) on Baisakh 13, 2080.

    The corporation will now issue 870,000 equity shares at NPR 100 per share. The issuance is worth Rs. 8.7 crore. This is equivalent to 39.55% of the company’s issued capital. The company’s total paid-up capital following the IPO allotment will be Rs 22 crores.
