The Insurance Board also encouraged non-life insurance companies to increase their paid-up capital to Rs. 2.5 Arba by the end of Chaitra 2079.

    The NEPSE index closed at 1,888.32 today, up 2.71 points from the previous trading day’s close. This represents a 0.14% increase. Yesterday, the index fell 18.80 points.

    Today, the index opened at 1,885.77 and closed at 1,875.14. In contrast, it reached a high of 1,891.87 before settling at 1,888.32.

However, because the problem manager did not get a sufficient number of applications, the deadline has been extended until Baisakh 20.

    According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association’s official website, fine gold is now trading for Rs. 109,300 per tola. Yesterday, the cost remained unchanged at Rs. 110,200 per tola. Meanwhile, Tejabi gold is currently trading for Rs. 108,800. In contrast, the cost was kept at Rs. 109,650 per tola yesterday.

    Dolti Power Company Limited offered 12,71,861 units worth Rs 12.71 crores to the general public as an Initial Public Offering (IPO) (Chaitra 28, 2079- Baisakh 3, 2080).According to the allocation module, a total of 1,27,186 candidates were assigned 10 units each by lottery, with one lucky applicant receiving an additional unit, while the rest 11,41,760 applicants were returned with empty hands.

    The Securities Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) has authorized Ghorahi Cement Industry Limited’s proposed initial public offering (IPO) on Baisakh 06, 2080.

    The corporation will now distribute 7,943,801 unit shares. A total of 3,97,190 unit shares are reserved for project-affected locals, while the remaining 75,46,611 unit shares are designated for the general public. The IPO would be issued by the corporation by adding a premium of Rs 300 to the face value of Rs 100, for a total of Rs 400 for project-affected people. Similarly, shares for the general public will be issued at Rs 435 after a premium of Rs 345 is added to the face value.

    Among the other items on the agenda, the AGM will approve a 4.64% cash dividend for fiscal year 2078/79. The dividend would be paid from the company’s paid-up capital of Rs. 3.14 Arba. A cash dividend of 0.23% and 4.41% bonus shares have been recommended. Thus, the bonus shares are worth little more than Rs. 13.85 crores, and the cash dividend is worth slightly more than Rs. 72.94 lakhs.

    According to the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), the interest rate on fixed deposits would be reduced beginning in the approaching month of Baishakh, 2080. The majority of banks indicated support for decreasing the interest rate at the Bankers’ Association meeting on Wednesday, and the decision was taken to also cut the term interest rate.

    The NBA, the umbrella organization for commercial banks, has resolved to slash interest rates. As a result, it has been agreed to reduce the interest rate on personal deposits by 10%. As a result of this change, the interest rate on fixed deposits has now fallen into the single digits.

    ICRA Ratings has assigned a long-term rating of LBBB to Hathway for long-term loans totaling Rs. 147.7 million and an A3 rating to the short-term fund totaling Rs. 852.3 million.
